“She knows something about Sabrina and Damian.” He turned and glared at her. “And I will make
her tell me everything.”
She cowered and dressed with shaky hands.
“Chase—”
Chase twisted around to face Jayson. “She’s been playing you, Jayson.” He glared at Lia. “Are
you a spy? Did Damian send you here to spy on us?”
Her guilty expression affirmed Chase’s suspicion and he sucked in a breath and clenched his fists.
Not only did she have something to do with Damian, she’d been playing his best friend. “You’ll be
lucky to ever see the light of day again,” he growled. He turned back to Jayson, who looked stunned.
“I’m sorry, man. Remember that guy Theo warned us about? From a really long time ago? It’s
Damian.”
Realization dawned in Jayson’s eyes and he turned to stare at Lia. His jaw trembled. “I cared for
you,” he whispered. Then his eyes hardened and his jaw clenched.
Chase grabbed Lia’s arm again, tight enough to let her know she couldn’t escape, but she merely
hung her head and let him drag her out of the room. “I’ll call you later, Jay.” He paused and turned
back to see Jayson standing in the doorway watching him with sad eyes. “I’m so sorry.”
Jayson gave a short nod and turned away. Lia didn’t look up.
Once outside, Chase shoved Lia into the back of the SUV. “If you try to escape, I will kill you, do
you understand?”
“Yes,” she whispered.
He slammed the door and jumped into the driver’s seat. He glanced back at her in the rearview
mirror and his anger abated for a split second as he saw her shrink against the seat. But no. She’d
deceived his best friend for months. She was an amazing actress, and he wouldn’t be sucked in. She
would give him answers if he had to torture them out of her. Nothing would stop him from finding
Sabrina.
He punched the screen in the center of the console several times. Ringing sounded through the car
speakers. “Hello?”
“Richard, I have Lia. I’m taking her to the Manor. Ethan and Lance are getting Sydney.” He glared
at Lia in the rearview mirror. “Are you still there?”
“I am.”
