he arrived, but it was definitely there—and strong—when he left. He hid it, somehow.”

Chase rubbed his face. “How did that happen? How did he take her?”

“She screamed, Chase. We heard her. He must have done something, tricked her, into being with

him.”

“It’s my fault.” Chase leaned his head back on the wall. “I should have protected her. I should

have watched her better.”

“It’s no one’s fault but Damian’s.” He put his hand on Chase’s shoulder. “Chase, if he is who we

think he is, he is incredibly powerful. He has abilities and knowledge far deeper than anyone alive

right now. He’s been banished for thousands of years and had all that time to think and plan.”

Chase buried his face in his hands. “What do we do?”

Richard didn’t reply and Chase looked up to see his face tight and eyes closed. “I don’t know yet.

I need to make some phone calls.” He gave Chase a sad smile. “Go home. I’ll call you when I hear

something.”

“I don’t want—”

“Chase, you have to tell Ethan.”

Chase slumped back against the wall. How do I tell Ethan?

Damian leaned back into the plush back seat of his chauffeured sedan, Sabrina next to him, silent and

peaceful. He knew her now, better than he had in a long time. He pulled off the ring that had held his

Immortal essence for so long and tossed it to the floor of the car.

He’d prepared a special place for the next few days as he strengthened his bond with Sabrina that

had weakened from being apart. Being outside the city limits of Boston would make it difficult for

Richard to trace. When Terric put up his protections, it would be impossible. Damian shifted in his

seat and put his hand on Sabrina’s leg. “Suck me,” he commanded. His dick ached.

Sabrina moved obediently and her mouth was on him in seconds. He leaned back and enjoyed the

movements of her mouth on him.

“Take your time, love,” he murmured, closing his eyes. “I don’t want to come too soon.”

Chase slumped out of the driver’s seat of his SUV and leaned against the vehicle, staring blankly at

the plain white walls of the garage.

Sabrina was gone.

His mind went round and round. How could he have stopped this?
