Ethan chuckled and sat up. “I’m gonna go shower.” He kissed Sabrina and smiled. “I like being

able to do that.”

Chase watched as he pulled on his shorts and gave a nod before heading toward the door, then lay

down next to Sabrina facing her. “Did you enjoy that?”

A smile crept across her face. “I did. Did you?”

“I did. Very much so.”

“I’m jealous I didn’t get to have sex, though.”

He smiled. “Tonight. I promise. I’m looking forward to it as much as you are.”

“I want to be with you, too, you know.”

“I know.” He took her hand and kissed the back of it. “I need to ask you something.”

“Okay.”

“Theo thinks he knows who your Master is, and he’s . . . concerned, to put it mildly.”

“Who is it?” She sat up on her hip and stared. “Can we get rid of him?”

Chase shook his head. “No. We don’t know where he is. But he’s powerful. Very powerful and,”

he sighed, “I need to be able to fight him when it’s time.”

“I know you will.” She smiled.

“I also need to be able to protect you with all the available methods.”

“Why are you hesitant?”

Chase looked down at her hand. “I hate the idea of it, but it seems it’s the best way.”

“What is it? Is it terrible?”

“It depends on your perspective, I suppose. Richard says we should consider making me your

Master.”

“Master?” Sabrina asked, staring at Chase. How could he ask her such a thing? “I thought being my

husband was enough.”

“It is. For now, but eventually . . .” He shook his head. “I can’t lose you, Sabrina. I’ll do anything

to keep that from happening.”
