A BUZZING SOUND DREW CHASE FROM HIS SLEEP . HE CLUMSILY GRABBED HIS PHONE FROM THE

nightstand and only opened his eyes once it was in front of his face. Richard.

“Hello?” His voice was rough with sleep.

“You’re normally awake for several hours by now,” Richard commented. “Late night?”

Chase looked next to him to where Sabrina was snuggled up next to him, with Ethan curled around

her. “You could say that.” He looked at the clock. Almost eleven.

“Did you talk to Sabrina yet?”

“Hang on a sec.” He scooted out from under Sabrina’s embrace and went into the closet. “No, I

didn’t have a chance yet.”

“Chase—”

“I know. We were working things out with Ethan.”

“Oh? Is he ready?”

Chase sat down on the bench and gave a little shiver, remembering. “He is.”

Richard chuckled. “Good.”

“I’ll wake Sabrina and talk to her as soon as I get off the phone.”

“Let me know. Alex and his father are here and you need to be here.”

“I’ll be there as soon as I can. Can Ethan take her to rehearsal this afternoon? She needs to be

there.”

Richard sighed. “We can push off the ceremonies until this evening, but it will be a late night.”

“Okay.”

Chase ended the call and walked back into the bedroom. He smiled as he studied the two figures

in bed. Sabrina would be safe with Ethan. Of that, he had no doubt.

He sat back on the bed and kissed Sabrina’s cheek. She opened her sleepy eyes and smiled. “Hi.”

“Hi. You okay?”

She nodded and ran her hand over Ethan’s arm. “Did that really happen?”

“Mmm,” Ethan said, nuzzling the back of her head. “I hope so, otherwise this is really awkward.”

Chase laughed and kissed both of them. “You need to get to rehearsal and I have to go to the

Manor.”

“Damn, I wanted to stay in bed all day,” Ethan groaned, his voice hoarse.
