He shook his head. “I left for a few minutes and was worried you might get attacked.”
“I’m fine. You woke early a couple mornings last week, and I was fine.”
He sat down on the bed. “I can’t risk it anymore.”
“Does that mean I have to get up at the break of dawn from now on?” She stuck her lip out.
He sighed. “I don’t know. I guess we should ask Richard.”
“Yeah.” She reached up and pulled him down to kiss him. “Oops. I should go brush my teeth.”
“You can go back to sleep.”
“I’m awake now.” She pushed the covers away and headed to the bathroom.
He watched her beautifully sculpted body and sighed. I am a damn lucky man.
She returned a few minutes later smelling of mint and straddled his lap. He glanced down at her
breasts and ran a thumb over a nipple. “God, you’re beautiful,” he said before kissing her.
A knock on the door made them pull apart. “Ethan.” He motioned toward the door. “I needed to
talk to him.”
She nodded and moved back to the bed, pulling the sheets up to cover herself. “Will it take long?”
“I don’t know.”
She got out of bed and scurried to the bathroom.
“Come in,” he shouted and Ethan walked in.
“Where’s Sabrina?” The shower turned on and he chuckled. “That answers that. I thought she was
asleep.”
“I accidentally woke her up when I was checking on her.” Chase stood. “We can go downstairs
now that she’s up.”
They walked down to the kitchen on the second floor and grabbed glasses of orange juice before
sitting at the table.
“What did you want to talk about?” Ethan asked, taking a sip of his juice.
Chase spun his glass, not sure of where to start.
“Spit it out. You know you don’t have to sugarcoat things with me.”
He sighed. “I got more details about the ceremonies after you guys left for Sabrina’s class
yesterday. I wanted to talk to you about it last night, but I forgot.”
Ethan laughed. “You guys hurried upstairs pretty fast when we got home.”
Chase shrugged and gave a tight smile.
