reminded her of where she’d woken up after Richard and Tom became her Masters, except it was

smaller and didn’t have a separate sitting room.

The walls were paneled in rich mahogany and the floor was matching wood but had a huge blue

rug that covered most of the room. The tall windows were covered in blue velvet curtains and several

lamps were lit, standing on round wooden tables around the edge of the room. A large wooden bed

stood along one wall and a marble fireplace with a cheery fire was set into the wall opposite the bed.

Chase carried her inside, kicked the door closed, and placed her gently on the bed. She bit her lip

and stared at him as he straightened, her heart pounding a million beats a minute. Now that they were

here, alone, Sabrina’s stomach fluttered.

He tilted his head and cupped her cheek. “You okay?”

Sabrina nodded, leaning into his hand. “Nervous for some reason.”

He smiled. “Me, too.”

“Really?”

He nodded, raising his eyebrows. “It’s you . . .” He drifted off. “I’ve waited so long to be with

you. I don’t want to hurt or disappoint you.”

“Why do you think you’d disappoint me?”

“Expectations?”

She giggled at the exaggerated expression on his face. “The only expectation I have is to be with

you. Besides,” she added with a sultry grin, “I know what you look like.” Sabrina glanced down at

his hips and then back up at his face. She sat up on her knees and wrapped her arms around his neck.

“I can’t wait to feel you instead of just imagining it.” She kissed him softly.

He groaned and wrapped his arms around her. “Me, too,” he murmured against her lips and then

pressed her down onto the bed, kissing her the entire time.

She was kissing her husband. My husband! Sabrina could hardly believe it. They were married at

last! Her heart swelled with love.

“What are you smiling about?” Chase asked against her lips. “It’s hard to kiss you when you’re

smiling.”

She giggled and pulled away. “I’m sorry. I was just . . . realizing we’re married.”

His eyes glinted with amusement. “You’d forgotten?”
