“Christopher and Sabrina, you have exchanged your promises and given and received tokens in
my presence. By these acts, you have become husband and wife. According to the laws of the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts, I pronounce you husband and wife. You may seal your promise
with a kiss.”
Chase grinned and pulled her toward him, pushing her veil away from her face and wrapping her
in his arms. He bent down and brushed his lips against hers. “I love you,” he said then pressed his
lips to hers, kissing her deeply. She slid her hands behind his neck and clung to him as his tongue
claimed her mouth as his own. He pulled back a good minute later and everyone was laughing.
Sabrina blushed and buried her face in his chest.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” the priest laughed, “I have the honor of presenting to you Mr. and Mrs.
Christopher Ralston.”
Everyone clapped and cheered as they turned around to face their guests. He couldn’t keep the
grin off his face as his heart soared among the clouds.
He caught his mother’s gaze, and she beamed at him from below. He pulled Sabrina against his
side and gave a wave before slipping her arm through his to walk down the aisle.
Sabrina looked up at him, face radiant, and he couldn’t stop himself from leaning down to kiss her
again. “I love you,” he whispered in her ear.
“I love you, too.” Her eyes sparkled with happiness.
The small reception took place in the lower rooms of the church. Brunch was served, but that was
about all Sabrina remembered as they sat in the back of the limo on their way to the Manor.
Ethan and Lance rode with her and Chase. She leaned her head against Chase, tired, but not
sleepy. It had been a busy morning, and she was looking forward to time alone with him. He kissed
the top of her head and ran his fingers up and down her arm.
“Doing okay?” he asked.
Sabrina nodded. “Tired.”
“Did you sleep last night?” he asked.
“Yeah. A little. Had a weird dream.” She smiled. “At least it wasn’t a nightmare, though.”
“I’m sorry that happened.”
“Me too.” She turned and looked at him. “But I’m safe now, right?”
“Soon.” Chase caressed her cheek. “After the ceremony at the Manor, you’ll be safe.”
