to love, honor, and cherish Sabrina Mansfield for the rest of his life.

“Please turn to face each other,” the priest said as the music faded away.

They turned to one another. Chase took both of Sabrina’s hands in his. She gazed up at him with

such love and trust in her eyes, he felt twenty feet tall and as brave as a lion.

“Christopher James Ralston, if you desire to become the husband of Sabrina, then repeat after

me . . .”

Chase spoke his vow with all the sincerity he had in him. “I, Christopher, take you, Sabrina, to be

my lawfully wedded wife. I promise from this day forward to be your faithful husband, for better, for

worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, and to protect, as long

“Sabrina Marie Mansfield, if you desire to become the wife of Christopher, then repeat after

me . . .”

Her voice was soft and sweet. “I, Sabrina, take you, Christopher, to be my lawfully wedded

words . . .”

Chase spoke as he put the ring on her finger. “I give you this ring as a constant reminder of the

promises we exchanged today. As you receive this ring, receive my promise of faithfulness to you.”

The priest spoke again. “Sabrina, will you give your token to Christopher, and repeat these

words . . .”

Sabrina turned and retrieved his ring from Liz and slid it onto Chase’s left ring finger as she

repeated the priest’s words. “I give you this ring as a constant reminder of the promises we

exchanged today. As you receive this ring, receive my promise of faithfulness to you.”

Chase stared at the gold and diamond ring on his hand, swallowing over the lump of happiness in

his throat. He looked back at Sabrina’s face, her eyes wide and full of hope, and smiled.
