him hard.

“What’s wrong?” he asked, tipping her head up.

She bit her lip and looked away, wondering if he could tell she’d gotten all hot and bothered this

morning.

Ethan patted her head. “I wasn’t expecting her to be up early and to walk into my bedroom.”

She looked up, her face hot. Chase laughed. “Why are you embarrassed? Was he naked?”

“No . . .”

Ethan waved his hand in the air and walked into the sitting room. She heard him greeting

someone.

Chase chuckled. “Ah. I see.” He leaned down and kissed her. “Didn’t he do it the other night?”

Sabrina shrugged. “It was different.”

“How so?”

She shrugged again. She didn’t know why it felt different. “Maybe because I caused it and was

glad he found . . . relief.”

“You don’t think this morning was about you?”

She snapped her head up.

He pulled her close and leaned down to her ear. “I did the same thing this morning.” Her mouth

dropped open, and he chuckled. “I love how sweet you are.” Still chuckling, he took her hand and led

her to the living room. “Come meet my friends.”

Inside the room, Ethan was greeting two people Sabrina didn’t know. The man, in his early

forties, was very tall and very well-built, his blond hair neatly cut, a little longer than Chase kept his.

His eyes were cobalt blue and looked kind. When he smiled, his whole face lit up. He wore dark

jeans and a black sweater and had his arm around a beautiful woman with long, wavy, dark brown

hair and green eyes. Sabrina couldn’t tell how old she was, as she looked both young and old at the

same time. The woman gazed up adoringly at the blond man as he talked, and when he kissed her

temple, she closed her eyes with a soft smile on her face. In her arms, she held a sleeping baby

wrapped in a fluffy pink blanket with a mess of dark curls at the top of its head.

Sabrina stared. She would have sworn the woman was glowing, just the tiniest bit. But that

couldn’t be right, could it?

“Sabrina, I’d like to introduce Alex and Anna Kunze. Alex, Anna, this is my Sabrina.”
