“You don’t want to see me?”

The pout in his voice made Sabrina laugh. “Well, I’m awake now. I’ll be there soon.” She put the

phone down and knocked on Ethan’s open door before walking in. He lay on his back on his bed,

bare-chested, one arm slung across his eyes and the other beneath the thin sheets. He was still except

for a slight movement around his hips.

“You normally come to full attention when anyone comes anywhere near you,” Sabrina said,

staring at his bare stomach.

“I know your presence and your knock.” He rolled up into a sitting position, tenting his knees.

Sabrina bit her lip and dragged her gaze up to look him in the face.

He gave her a sheepish grin and shrugged. Her cheeks warmed, and he laughed. “You think I don’t

take care of myself when you’re not around?”

“Do you want me to leave so you can finish?”

He grinned. “Nah. What’s up? I thought you said you were going to sleep in this morning.”

“Chase called.” Sabrina saw Ethan tense up. “It’s okay. He said someone had come into town and

asked if I’d come over.”

Ethan’s eyes lit up, arousing Sabrina’s curiosity. “Ah. Good. Okay. I’ll get dressed.” He stood and

Sabrina looked away. His sweatpants hung low on his hips. Loooooooow.

“You know who’s here?” Sabrina asked.

“I have a guess.”

“Who?”

“You’ll find out.”

Sabrina turned back to shoot him a dirty look, but he turned her around and slapped her rear. “Go

get ready.”

She inhaled sharply and walked quickly out of the room. She was so focused on the lingering

sensation of his playful slap that it took her three tries to get her sweater on right. When she finally

managed to dress, she went out to the living room. Ethan leaned against the kitchen counter, a glass of

orange juice in his hand.

“Ready?” he asked then swigged the rest of the liquid down.

She nodded, and they headed out.
