CHASE SETTLED ONTO THE COUCH WITH S ABRINA AND ETHAN AFTER A SUCCESSFUL VISIT TO THE
brownstone Sabrina liked. His agent made an offer as they were leaving and the wheels were in
motion for Chase to be able to move into the place in a few days.
Sabrina curled up next to him and had just pressed play to start the show when his phone buzzed.
It was Malcolm. He kissed Sabrina on the cheek and then walked into the kitchen. “What’s up,
Malcolm?”
“Jim and I were doing an audit of the files and we noticed some missing.”
“What ones?”
“The ones with the new software designs.”
Chase ran his hand through his hair. “Shit.” He glanced back across the room where Sabrina was
staring wide-eyed at the television. Ethan looked over and arched a brow. Chase shook his head.
“Okay. Let me call Corey and I’ll be at the office in a few.”
“Sorry, man.”
“No, it’s okay. It’s why you hired me. I’ll see you soon.” He ended the call and called Corey.
“Hey, check Zydatech’s logs. Someone’s gotten into the sensitive files.”
“Sure, boss.”
“I’ll be on site in about fifteen.” He ended the call and shoved his phone back into his pocket as
he walked back to Sabrina. “I have to go out for a bit.”
She stuck out her lower lip, and he resisted the urge to lean down and nip it. “Why?”
“Work.” He glanced at Ethan and gave an apologetic look. Normally, they’d be rushing out the
door together, but Ethan’s job was here, with Sabrina.
Ethan nodded. “Let me know if I can do anything from here.”
Chase nodded then leaned down and kissed Sabrina’s temple. “I love you.”
