Silence falls for a few moments before he speaks again.

“The kid looks different. Happier.” Fionn folds his arms over his chest, looking out at the pool.

“Yeah.” I nod. “I knew Elara would be good for him.”

“You look better too.” His face breaks with amusement.

“Mm-hmm. Don’t make me toss you in the water.”

But a crack of a smile appears on my face, because I am happier.

With her.

My phone rings on the lounge chair, and when I pick it up, I find my banker on the other end.

“What’s up, Ed?”

“Sir, I’m sorry to bother you, and I wouldn’t if we didn’t have a rather worrisome problem.”

“And what’s that?”

“Well, uh…it seems there’s a rather large pending transaction at the Dolce & Gabbana store that I wasn’t sure if you wanted me to approve.”

Ah, Elara has finally listened.

“Approve it.”

“But you don’t even know how much it’s for.”

“Doesn’t matter. It’s just my wife, and she can spend whatever she wants.”

Can’t wait to get my hands on her just to show her how proud I am.

“Okay, but, sir, it’s for almost three-quarters of a million,” he whispers.

I let out a big laugh, and both my brothers stare at me, wondering why.

“Wow. I’m really impressed. Approve it, and from now on, I want you to approve them all. She has no limit.”

“Okay, sir, thank?—”

I end the call and throw my phone back down.

“What was that about?” Fionn asks.

“Elara’s finally learning to spend our money.”

He chuckles. “You know that’s probably our sister’s influence, right?”

“I know. I told her to make sure of it. It’s not every day Iseult actually listens to a goddamn word I say.”

“Truth.” Cillian lets out a snicker.

“Oh, I forgot to tell you guys, Konstantin called this morning. His new associate wants to meet us before he decides if he wants to work with us. We meet at my place in two days at three p.m. sharp. Make sure you’re both there.”

“Yeah. No problem. Who the fuck is he? Do we know?” Cillian asks.

“Some big shot.”
