He looked at me, gauging my response. I let out a deep breath.
The selfish part of me wanted to tell Nitro I'd be fine on my own, but then my gaze lingered on my bite mark on his neck.
It wasn't just my life at risk now, but also his.
"Yes, that would be a good decision," I said.
Nitro let out a sigh of relief. Annoyingly, so did Marc.
"I think I'll stick around Moon Burrow for a few days as well," Marc said, his words catching me off guard. "I'll be in your apartment."
"Wait, what?" I asked, my brows furrowing in confusion.
"Bear with it," Nitro whispered in my ear. "He was really worried about you, and honestly, he's kind of needy."
"I can hear you two perfectly," Marc grumbled, clearly not pleased with being discussed like he wasn't present.
I let out a breath, realizing there was no getting rid of my brother easily.
Despite the initial surprise and a touch of annoyance, I began to see the silver lining in Marc's unexpected stay.
It presented a unique opportunity for us to catch up and work out the lingering issues from before.
Perhaps this could be a chance for us to strengthen our bond as brothers.
Besides, in the midst of the recent threats and uncertainties, having family close by felt like a comforting reassurance.
So, I eventually handed Marc the key to my apartment.
"Okay, here's my key," I told my brother. "Now go away, and we'll talk tomorrow."
“I hear you,” Marc said, his gruff exterior momentarily softening. "Thanks, Tommy."
"That was considerate of you," Nitro told me once Marc left and we headed to his room.
Our room, I silently corrected. I wagged a warning finger at him.
"Don't start, I'm not completely happy with you either, mate."
"Then I'll just have to make it up to you...in bed," Nitro said, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively.
I couldn't help but laugh. Nitro's warm fingers enveloped mine, and he gently tugged me, leading the way back to his bedroom.
We made it past his door and then we were all over each other. I let out an impatient growl as I fumbled for my clothes.
Nitro let out an amused chuckle, which didn’t help one bit.
The moment Nitro placed his strong, callused hands on my body, I was a goner.
He yanked me close, slanting his hungry mouth over mine.
The familiar hate and taste of him washed down my mouth. I couldn’t get enough of him.
He edged me towards the bed, kissing me relentlessly. Nitro deepened the kiss and I sucked down on his tongue.
“I’m crazy about you, Tommy,” he murmured after releasing my lips. “Not get on the bed.”
Hearing the firm authority in his voice sent a shiver of anticipation down my spine. I crawled into his sheets.
