“Why is that so hot, baby?” Her only response is a smug grin as she swallows it all down and then she leans forward to lick me clean.

“Do I get that coffee now?” She asks as she stands up next to me and places a kiss on my cheek.

“You get whatever the fuck you want now, Sunshine.” I chuckle as she turns off the water. She grabs a towel and we make quick work of getting dressed and heading to the kitchen to see what I have available.

It doesn’t take her long to find the coffee cabinet. Yes, I have a full cabinet of coffee and then a similar one with tea in it. I had a lot of this already for my mom and Ashley, but since working with Sasha, I added some more options to my syrups and extras that I know she would love. It looks like a mini coffee shop in my kitchen and I am not mad about it.

“This is incredible. I could come over here every morning for coffee and have almost all of the combinations I drink at the coffee shop.”

“I won’t complain about that.” I smirk over at her. “Hot or iced?”

“Hot please.”

The beginning of November comes and we fall into an easy routine of date nights, coffee mornings, and continued work meetings. There are a lot of phone calls and following up with resources for brands now and not just social media. But I am so excited where things are going. I’ve spent the night with Matt a few more times and it just keeps getting better. The relationship we have built has been absolutely incredible and he knows my body better than I do in some ways.

It’s the second week of November when I get an email from a cosmetic company based out of New York City while I am with Matt for our weekly meeting. I take a moment to open it and read it before reacting. If this is just one of those emails with an exciting header to get me to open it and then is just another sale, I don’t want to get my hopes up. This is the brand I’ve had at the top of my wish list for a collaboration since I figured out the difference between BB and CC cream.

Matt must realize that my energy just shifted because his gaze is fixed on me as I continue reading. And then reading through it again.

“Can you read this and make sure this says what I think it says before I totally freak out and make a complete fool of myself in this coffee shop?” I ask him as I pass over my laptop.

He moves things around so he can take my laptop and begins reading. Out comes the notebook as he jots down a few things. When he finishes, he looks up at me over the screen and smiles.

“Well, it looks like it says that you are going to New York for the Christmas release from Natalie’s new makeup line and are going to be their featured influencer and will get to do some behind the scenes content before attending a special dinner as they officially partner with you and COBeauty for their endeavors in sustainable cosmetics.”

So I did read that right.

“So, this is real. This is happening?”

“Yes it is, love. Are you ready to turn in your notice at Home Depot?”

“Can you help me write the letter after I accept this?”

“Would you hate me if I said it’s already done and it just needs your signature?” He asks me. And yes, I am shocked, but I can’t even process that fully right now.

“Hand it over.”

Wait, did he call me ‘love’?
