Coconut mocha
Social Post: Road trip ready – even if it is just forty minutes. Can’t wait to spend the next little bit up in Estes. Don’t forget to share your “pink every day” posts today!! #roadtripday #coloradogirl #estespark #octoberincolorado #sashaloveslipstick #pinkeveryday #womenshealthinitiative #supportlocalbusinesses
Image Description: Full mirror selfie. I’m wearing a pair of black leggings, comfy shoes, and an oversized blush pink sweater. Makeup is softer today and my look is finished with an over the shoulder bag from a local company.
Right on time, Matt shows up at the apartment at nine – coffee in hand. He doesn’t even wait for me to ask.
“Coconut mocha this morning for you. I kept it simple so you could have your caffeine fix while we load the car up while still trying a new combination.” I smile at him as he hands me my drink and he returns the smile before dropping a kiss on my cheek.
I never knew I was a “sweet kiss” kind of girl, but Matt has changed that. It’s a lot of sitting close moments, holding hands, foot massages, and forehead and cheek kisses. They aren’t big elaborate gestures, but they show me that he is thinking about me and is making an intentional move to make sure I know that.
“You two are beyond adorable.” I hear Kylie behind me. She drops her duffel on the floor next to mine. Carter follows her out into the hallway. It’s been non stop since early August. Ashley went back to school so our work schedule has changed quite a bit. And then Carter got a promotion at the restaurant so he is working longer hours and Kylie has been hanging out with him during any “off the clock” moments. This weekend is going to be good for them too. Not being called in for any emergencies is going to be helpful for all of us I think.
The guys start bringing things to the car. Luckily, it’s only a few bags and a cooler. There is definitely a benefit in us staying close to home. Carter filled up the gas tank last night so we won’t have to stop on the way up the canyon. It is the height of the tourist season in the mountains, so the earlier we leave and the fewer times we have to stop, the better.
I finish applying my sunscreen and pass it to Kylie so she can do the same, fill up my water bottle one more time, and then we are on the way.
Okay, one stop on the way up isn’t bad. We stop at the Cherry Store on our way up the canyon. It’s a tourist stop for sure, but the Colorado Cherry Company has some amazing products! Sweets and sodas and a whole lot of local options. It’s a spot I come to every time I am in this direction and we load up on sodas and muffins before continuing the drive.
From the apartment to Estes Park is only about an hour. Conversation was easy and traffic was light so we made good timing. And I love that on our first “casual outing” there aren’t any arguments or tense moments. I had friends in college that had to make choices between friends or boyfriends when they went out because the two groups didn’t get along. I didn’t think it was going to be a problem, but knowing that everyone gets along makes me feel better.
The cabin is beautiful! It’s close to the river and we will have to drive a bit to get to downtown Estes Park, but it’s going to be quiet and beautiful out here! Matt goes to check us in at the main house and then we head into the house. Kylie and Carter claim the back bedroom so we have the one up front. We walk in and I immediately start laughing.
“Guess this isn’t an ‘only one bed’ trope situation.”
Matt just looks at me totally befuddled and then takes a look at the room.
“I must have missed the two twin bed situation on the listing.”
“I think they are upgraded to doubles. So are we pushing them together, squishing into one, or taking this as a sign to sleep separately?” I ask him with light amusement in my voice.
“I may not have expectations of us doing more than second base tonight, but there is absolutely no way that I am not sleeping without you in my arms tonight, beautiful.” He says as he walks closer to me, gently pushing my body up against the door that we had closed behind us.
“I wouldn’t be opposed to third base…” I trail off as I take note of his body pressed against mine. I love feeling his weight on me. It settles me and turns me on all at the same time.
He smiles down at me as he rests his hand on my neck, softly stroking the side of my face as he lowers his lips to mine. I let my purse fall to the floor so I can put my hands on him. I decide to play with him a bit and nip at his lip a little bit. I can feel his smile against my lips as he pushes into me further. There’s no space between us as he deepens the kiss and grips my hip and neck a little harder.
I want this man so badly. And I’m starting to regret the decision to have roommates just a few feet down the hall.
“I am starting to wish we took this trip on our own.” I tell him breathlessly as he takes a break from my lips to start kissing down my jaw line to my neck.
His only response is a small hum as he continues his exploration.
“I mean, it’s nice having them here, but I want to do more than a quick make-out session behind the door.”
At that comment, he raises his head to meet my eyes. “Who said this would be a quick make-out session? We’ve got time.” He has a hint of mischief in his eyes as he reaches behind me and locks the door before picking me up and carrying me to the closest bed and lays me down gently.
