Me: Thank you, Ash. I will see you later. Rest up and let me know if you and Sasha need anything with your meeting tomorrow.
Ashley: Sounds good. Do you want to meet up at all tomorrow before or after my meeting with her or wait until Tuesday morning like normal?
Me: Let’s do Tuesday morning at the coffee shop. I have a full day planned tomorrow.
Ashley: Okie. Love you.
Me: Love you too. Thanks again for the pic.
Chapter Fourteen

Social Post: Something that people don’t chat about a lot as a side effect of social anxiety – the intense exhaustion that comes after having to “people” for extended periods of time. I feel like the market yesterday went really well, but my entire body hurts today. I may spend the day in bed today and just rest. If you saw me yesterday, make sure you tag me in your photos! #sashaloveslipstick #thisisanxiety #farmersmarket #noco #coloradosummer

Sunday is spent in bed. My body is absolutely paying for yesterday. It was a long day, physically, mentally, emotionally – all the things. And I need a reset day. I make my way to the couch for part of the day and watch Star Wars with Carter for a bit before he goes to work. I make it thirty minutes into Episode Four before I pass out again. I am just too tired to even function today apparently.
I wake up to my phone buzzing with a text notification
Matt: Just want to tell you again that you did great yesterday. I know you’re probably beat today, but you did good. Get your rest and I’ll chat with you soon.
I smile at my phone as I read the message, debating how to respond so it doesn’t seem like I’m ungrateful or fishing for compliments.
Me: Thanks, Matt. I appreciate all of your help and the encouragement too. See you Tuesday.
At eight, Kylie gets home with dinner and we eat on the couch, watching Friends reruns until Carter gets home at ten. I never even got out of my pajamas today, a cute silk set with lipstick kisses all over it. I’m predictable with what I like, no shame in that at all.
I finally drag myself back to my room to shower, change into clean pajamas, this one a simple blue nightshirt with “coffee queen” on the front, and climb into bed. I set my alarm for work the next morning and promptly pass out again. If this is how event days are going to go, I don’t know how many of these I can commit to. I’ll have to chat with Matt about this at our next meeting.
Monday starts really well. It’s the last day of June but the first day of our July as far as the Home Depot calendar goes, so it’s a reset for metrics. I love starting a new month so I can try to hit goals all over again. I dress in my dark wash skinny jeans, a white short-sleeve shirt with light pink flowers on it and then grab my dark pink cardigan to go with it. It’s a little chilly this morning so I am thankful for the layers as I head to the coffee shop before my shift. I seriously love this place.
I run inside and smile at the barista.
“Hey, Sasha. I have your order ready to go.” She smiles at me. I stare at her for a second, trying to understand what she just said.
“Um, thank you, but I didn’t order anything ahead of time today…” I drift off as she hands me a bag and a drink. “What is it and who ordered this?” I ask her.
“Um, it was in our system this morning with your number and name on it and the time you would be at the shop to pick it up. It’s an iced raspberry latte with chocolate drizzle and then a sausage breakfast sandwich on a bagel. I can get you something else if you would like, but this was made like three minutes ago for you.”
“No, that’s okay. This is great. Thanks, Sarah.” I grab the items, leave a tip, and then head back to my car. Last week with the order paid in advance was a once in a blue moon moment, this, I don’t even know how to respond to this. But I’m not turning down free coffee and this is so very good!
Work is unremarkable. I go through my reports, prepare for my meetings, place orders, check inventory, eat lunch, walk my department, grab carts from the lot, and run a register for a little while when things get busy. By the time I’m clocking out, my feet hurt and I am ready for dinner. I text Ashley to see if she’s okay meeting at Panera so we can eat something while working on things for the next month. Since it’s the start of a new month, we are going to go over analytics, trends, and overall content plans. It’s a good check-in time.
Twenty minutes later, Ashley meets me and we both grab a salad and lemonade then find a quiet corner of the restaurant to work. We split up the list from the market and start sending emails and messages. I go through the social media tags from the weekend and re-share a bunch of pictures to my stories and then post a quick recap video too. Ashley does much of the same on her own accounts.
At 8:00, we call it a night. We are both drained and have gotten so much done. Content is mapped out through the middle of August and we have a solid plan to get there for both of our channels. This week is going to fly by at this rate.
Tuesday is my early day at the store so I am walking in as the doors unlock at five. We open early in the summer for contractors so I’m back on the floor just a few minutes later. The one downside of Tuesdays, I am here before my coffee shops open. Except for one, but they burn their beans and I don’t want a sugary drink this early in the morning. At 6:30, I get a text from Carol at the Service Desk.
Carol: Hey love, you have a delivery up here when you get a moment.
Me: Thank you. What is it?
Carol: Smells like coffee and something yummy.
