I interrupted him, “I know everything, Derek. The stalking. The connections you have. I know it all and I’m not interested in having any further contact with you.”

Derek rolled his eyes, “That asshole is manipulating you.”

“That asshole has been a big believer in what I can do with my life for longer than most. So, excuse me if I hold some respect for him, regardless of what our personal issues may have been.” I threw my cloth napkin on the table.

“You think I stalked you, but what do you think Liam is doing pulling you into his fucking project?” Derek looked at me with a dangerous expression but I grabbed my purse and started to slide out of the booth. I wasn't going to bother clarifying that Liam's intentions had always been to protect me, not hurt me. The longer I knew Derek the more I was convinced he would turn into an abusive asshole. Derek threw cash on the table and started to slide out of the booth as well.

Derek roughly grabbed my wrist, as I walked past him, stopping me. “If you think you can walk away from me, you're wrong.”

“Let go of me.” I kept my voice low with a viciousness to it.

“No, we are not done talking.”

Derek held my wrist tightly and pulled me towards the front door and the coat check. He wouldn’t get anything more from me. I was absolutely done with him. We exited the restaurant after getting our coats. Once again, Derek grabbed my wrist and started walking up the street. I yanked my arm but he kept his grip on my wrist and stepped closer to me. His eyes were dark and the look on his face was threatening.

“We are not breaking up. You will quit your job and stay away from Liam Teresi.”

Out of the corner of my eye I saw people approaching, but I was seeing red. I pulled my other arm back and punched Derek right in the face. Blood immediately gushed and he released my wrist to cover his nose. I grabbed his shoulders and kneed him directly in the balls. I pushed him and he fell over, giving up on holding his bleeding nose and holding his crotch instead. I shook my hand out while hearing some people gasping as well as a few swear words and snickers. I stepped over him and looked down at him, bringing every ounce of feminine rage into me.

“You have no idea who I am and what I'm capable of, Derek. Don’t ever come near me again or I'll show you exactly what I can do!”

When I turned to continue walking down the street, Rion was in front of me and holding out his hand. I rolled my eyes but showed him my wrist and he looked at it. There was already bruising showing up. He looked pissed and he looked behind me and nodded. Then he stepped to the side and I kept walking, not even looking behind me because I already knew who he was nodding to.

I walked away with my shoulders back and my head high. I headed for the street holding my hand out for a taxi. Thankfully, I flagged one down quickly. I slid into the cab and gave my drop off. I wanted to spend the night at home in my pajamas eating takeout, since the portion sizes sucked at the restaurant.

Chapter 41

Liam

Derek pulled Hannah by her wrist towards the exit and I was out of my seat so fast I barely noticed my cousins following me. Derek and Hannah were arguing and I was glad I’d never seen that look of anger from her. I’d made her angry but never that angry.

We followed them out of the building. I saw her tug her arm and Derek didn’t let go. Instead, he stepped towards her looking at her like he would actually harm her. I was about to rip Derek apart but Hannah punched him dead in the nose before I reached them.

When the blood gushed, I looked at Hannah and she looked ready to murder Derek. If I weren’t ready to kill the mother fucker myself I probably would have been a bit turned on by this. Derek fell to the ground holding his crotch. She stood over him with a look that would have had some of the most terrifying men cowering.

“You have no idea who I am and what I'm capable of, Derek. Don’t ever come near me again or I'll show you exactly what I can do!” She yelled at him and it was not high pitched, it was a growl like a demon had awoken in her. It only made me want her more.

She spun and Rion blocked her. She gave him her wrist and he inspected it before nodding to me. Hannah took off walking towards the street, but I turned my attention to Derek and squatted next to him.

“I’ll enjoy her leftovers.” Derek went wide-eyed, I stood and looked at Bas, “Take him to the warehouse.”

Thankfully, there weren’t many people around us right now, so I shouldn’t have to worry about making any of the gossip columns tomorrow. I tried to spot Hannah and saw her getting into a taxi. I wanted to see if she was okay, but it'd have to wait.

An hour later, we were in one of Uncle Michael’s warehouses, and Derek was tied to a chair. I was staring at him with dried blood under his nose, down his chin, and staining his white shirt. He stared back at me with panic in his expression.

“You need to release me now,” Derek tried to demand, but it sounded more like begging.

“You put your hands on what belongs to me and left bruises on her. Why do you think you will live past tonight?” The dangerous growl in my voice wasn’t easing despite my attempts to calm down.

“I have to do a job for Salvatore and if I don’t complete that job he’s threatened to kill Hannah.” Derek struggled against his bindings.

“What’s the job?” Archer asked while circling Derek, causing him to whip his head around to keep eyes on Archer.

"Why would I tell you anything?" Derek spat.

"You will tell us everything, or I will start taking body parts. What's the job and does Salvatore know of my connection to Hannah?" My tone grew more violent.

“I’m cleaning money through my firm. I never told him your connection with Hannah, that doesn't mean he won't figure it out.” Derek warned.
