“Yes?”

“Mr. Derek Wright is demanding to see you. Should I call security?”

“Send him in.”

I leaned back in my chair and unbuttoned my suit coat. I put on my best bored face too. Derek flung open my door, walked in and closed it.

“You son of a bitch,” Derek started.

“That’s the truth,” I laughed and he blinked at me, “How can I help you, Derek?”

“You can stay the hell away from Hannah.”

"I don't give warnings a third time Derek. Did you tell her about our interactions?"

"Of course I didn't," he scoffed, "You were wrong then. I know what you are doing."

"What's that?" I tilted my head slightly.

“You’re trying to win her back. You will ask for her to be removed from your project! I won, she’s with me!”

“First off, I want Hannah on this project because she’s brilliant and no one can do this like she can. Second, you didn’t win anything. You will never have what I had with Hannah.”

“Back the fuck off, or you won’t like what happens to you,” Derek sneered.

I chuckled, “Let me ask you, does she know you stalked her for years?”

Derek paled, “I didn’t stalk her. She’s a beautiful woman that I kept running into.”

“Is that your logic when you showed up in Pittsburgh? Tell me, is Hannah aware of your association with Salvatore Agosti?”

Derek stiffened and glared at me but he didn’t say anything. Revealing I had eyes on him and Salvatore may not have been smart on my part, but I wouldn’t allow him to come into my place of business and demand anything from me.

“You have no idea what I’m capable of.” Derek stood up straight trying to intimidate me, but this asshole obviously didn’t understand the type of power I held.

“I could say the same. The difference is that I am far more terrifying than you.”

“If you know what’s good for you, you will back off Hannah.” Derek threatened and I let a grin spread across my face.

“You two have been dating for about six months and already signs of your temper are showing. Don’t think I didn’t notice the way you gripped Hannah and be grateful I haven’t killed you for it, yet.”

“Are you threatening me?” A flash of fear crossed Derek’s eyes, despite his hardened tone.

“I’m making a fucking promise. I'll bring intense pain and suffering down on you if you so much as lay a finger on my Hannah.”

“I’m not afraid of you, Liam. You’re just some corporate dick bag. You should be afraid of what I can do to you with my connections.”

“Please tell Hannah you came by to speak to me. I’m sure she’ll appreciate that. Now get the fuck out of my office.” I gestured towards the door, waving him off.

Derek glared at me and walked out, slamming my door. He was lucky he could live another day.

I would need to put more protection on Hannah because his behavior was about to worsen. Not that I’m going to withhold the information about him showing up here from her. In fact, I think I’ll schedule an appointment solely to tell her this.

If she tried to break up with him, I knew there was a good chance he’d get violent with her. I needed to make sure Hannah was protected from his likely outburst. I wouldn’t let anyone harm her.

“Mr. Teresi?” Vanessa came through my intercom.

“Yes, Vanessa.” It came out slightly irritated, so I was glad Vanessa knew me well enough that it wasn’t meant towards her.
