“He disappeared before we could grab him,” Rion said.

“I stopped by his apartment after I dropped Ashley off. He left in a hurry. The place was trashed and he grabbed his clothes. I’ll find him,” Bas said.

I only hoped Derek gave up his pursuit of Hannah and left town, but stalkers don’t typically do that. Bas would find out everything about Derek and hopefully find out where he went. My first priority needed to be getting Hannah back and dealing with my mother.

I had sent so many texts to Hannah over the last four days and all of them had gone unanswered. It was Thursday morning and I felt like I was going nuts without her. She wasn’t working and I knew she was at home. My mom would be back in a couple of hours and I didn’t want to deal with her.

The guys came over this week and we scoured the house for anything to throw my mom under the bus for something and convince my father to leave her. We came up empty though. So the only thing we had was the suspicion that she said something awful to Hannah and ruined my relationship. I doubted that would be enough to convince my father.

“Liam!” My father yelled for me and I sighed and got out of bed. I opened my door and walked to the stairway to look down at my dad in the foyer, “Want to explain to me why Mr. Meyer is requesting I meet with him right now?”

“What?” That piqued my interest and I ran down the stairs. It was eight in the morning. It seemed odd that Bill would want to meet with my dad like that.

“Yeah, Bill called me and told me he wanted to speak with me as soon as possible. Is Hannah pregnant?” My dad asked.

“No, we were careful. She’s on birth control.”

“Why would her father want to speak with me?”

“I really don’t know. Can I come with you?”

“He asked that it be just him and me.” I sighed and sat down on the stairs. Then my father said, “This isn’t a normal breakup, something happened.”

“All I know is mom talked to Hannah in the kitchen the night of the dinner and after that Hannah was distant. The night of the party, Melissa kissed me and I shoved her away, but not before Hannah saw her, then she broke up with me.”

“So am I going to hear a lecture about how my son is a cheat?”

“I didn’t cheat. Melissa kissed me, I pushed her away. I didn’t kiss her back and Hannah knows that.”

“Well, your mom will be back in a couple of hours. I’ll be back by then too.”

After my dad left, I went back to my room and locked my door. It felt like I was waiting for all hell to break loose. Still, all I thought about was every date, every kiss, the sound of her laughter, her mango and vanilla scent, and the way she always felt perfect in my arms.

A couple of hours later, I heard my mom getting home and hoped my father would be home soon, before she tried talking to me. I wanted witnesses for the conversation I was about to have with her.

Squealing tires and the slamming of a car door had me sitting up in my bed. Then the bang of the front door and I knew something was extremely wrong.

“You are a heinous bitch! You had no right to go behind my back like that and it’s the final straw, Elaine! I want a divorce!” I heard my father yell and I immediately jumped out of bed and went to my door.

“What are you talking about? You can’t divorce me!” My mother screeched and it was like nails on a chalkboard.

“You got Bill fired from his job! Do you have any idea what he has done for my family? Now I have to clean up your fucking mess, again! Furthermore, you offered to pay Hannah to leave Liam, and when she turned you down you threatened her scholarship, her dad, and her best friend! I’m done with you, get your shit together and leave my house,” my dad yelled, and I started walking down the stairs.

My mom stopped and looked at me. I’d never seen my dad this mad and it felt good that he was on my side in this. My mom threatened everything that Hannah had worked for and her family to make her leave me.

“I want nothing to do with you. Do not contact me ever again.” My voice was low and dangerous as I spoke to my mother. She ruined everything in order to try to manipulate me and get her way. Hannah was all that mattered to me at this point and damn whatever consequences came from this, I would ruin the bitch.

“Liam, you can’t mean that, I’m your mother.”

“Not anymore. You ruined innocent lives for your own personal desires. You ruined my happiness in hopes you would get your way. I want you out of my life,” I said, surprisingly calm but still with that hint of danger.

“If she would so willingly give you up for others, she doesn’t love you.”

“I don’t need to explain her actions to you. Furthermore, if you really loved me you would never have pulled this.” My voice was getting louder and my mother’s face turned angry.

“How dare you? After everything I’ve done for you, you’re going to sit here and tell me I don’t love you. The amount of money spent on you, your education, your entire life!”

“My money! And I sure as hell didn’t keep track of that! I've let you get away with too much for too long. Get the fuck out, we are getting a divorce,” my father yelled.
