“Yes, that. Just so you are prepared.” Liam laughed.
“Exactly two seconds before I’m about to meet everyone?”
As soon as the door opened, loud laughter and voices flowed out to greet us. Walking into the foyer, there were loads of people scattered through the modern styled house. The double staircase in the foyer drew the eyes up to a beautiful modern chandelier. The floors were black marble and white plush rugs were placed under the furniture in the living room to the left and the dining room to the right.
“Liam!” A man, a few inches shorter than Liam yelled out, his arms open wide towards Liam. As he approached, I scanned the man, noting his gray hair parted on the side and clean cut appearance. His eyes were a deep rich brown, and he had sandstone skin with olive undertones.
“Uncle Michael!” Liam hugged his uncle tight and I smiled at the display of love between them. Michael Teresi was not what you'd expect someone to look like who's the head of a criminal family. His black shirt was untucked and the black pants didn’t hide his dad bod. His face radiated with a bright smile as he looked over Liam.
When his eyes turned to me, Liam pulled himself away from Michael and came to my side. His hand went to my lower back, “Uncle Michael, this is Hannah Meyer.”
“Hannah! Your father has told me so much about you, my love.” Michael came over and pulled me into a hug and gave me a kiss on both cheeks, “He’s always telling me how proud he is of you.”
“I can’t help but to brag about my little Firefly.” My head snapped to the left and my dad was standing there with a large smile.
“Daddy?” I ran over and flew into his open arms. Due to our work schedules, I hadn't seen my dad in a long time. It was a surprise to see him in town, let alone at Michael Teresi's home. “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?”
“I got in this morning after a phone call from Liam last night. Like I wouldn’t show up to make sure my girls were safe?” My dad always included Ashley with me since he had basically become a second father to her.
“Daddy, you don’t need to worry about me.” I pulled back from my dad.
He looked down at my clutch and patted it, “I know but I’m still going to.”
It was my father who took me to learn how to shoot, get my licenses, and then to buy my first gun. It was also him who was there to help me take care of Chad after the attack. I should have realized back then about the Teresi family connection with my dad, but I never thought my dad would be involved like this. How involved was my dad if he was joining the Teresis for a family event?
Turning, I looked at Liam and his uncle who were talking softly to each other, then I turned back to my dad, “You have a lot of explaining to do.”
My dad cringed a little, “I know, Firefly.”
“Is that Hannah?” I heard the familiar baritone. Turning my head, John Teresi was walking towards me with a drink in hand, likely scotch based on the coloring.
“Mr. Teresi.” I smiled and offered my hand.
“Oh please, call me John.” He shook my hand and smiled brightly at me. The last time I saw him was that disastrous dinner with his wife, well ex-wife now.
“How are you doing, John?”
“Very good, I’ve taken back the CEO position but my stress levels are significantly less now as I’m sure you can imagine.”
“I can and that’s good. I hope you are taking care of yourself.”
“Of course I am. I’m glad to see you and Liam are at least talking to each other again. He’s been lost without you.” John grinned at me.
“We’ll see,” I said with a grin and John laughed.
“Give him hell.” John patted my shoulder and walked away as Liam started walking over to my dad and me.
“But not too much, we will sit and talk after dinner. I’m sure Liam wants to introduce you to his family,” my father said before pulling me into another hug.
For the next hour, Liam took me around to meet the other members of the family. Archer introduced me to his father, Jimmy. Rion and Bas were also there. Liam introduced me to Leonidas, who was a beast of a man and extremely attractive. He had that dark and scary kind of look with dark hair, honey eyes, tan olive skin, and a lot of muscles.
Soon afterwards, dinner was served and we were all escorted into the dining room. I sat down next to Liam at the middle of the table. Leonidas took one end, Michael took the other, and the rest of the family filled in wherever they could.
Chapter 45
Liam
I didn’t know if Bill would make it for the family dinner but, the moment I told him what was going on with Salvatore he said he was on his way. Evidently, Hannah never even informed Bill that she was seeing Derek so he didn’t even have a clue that her former stalker was going after her again.
