I open my eyes.

Jasper Rayburn smiles at me.

It’s real.

Chapter 10

Jasper

There are no words.

Holding Amara in my arms, I’m completely flabbergasted. I want to do more. I want to hold her more. I want to go again. I’m already hard and ready for her, and I know that I’m absolutely never going to get enough of this woman. Never.

I have no fucking clue how I’m going to tell Nolan, but there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that I’m going to tell him. I’m not going a day without this. Without her. Not ever again.

Amara stirs. The space between our bodies shifts, and I feel cold wherever she pulls away. I tug her closer.

“I should go back to my room,” she murmurs.

“We’re in your room.”

“Oh. Well. You should go back to yours.”

“No,” I laugh, leaning down to kiss her forehead.

“Nolan—”

“Will come back tomorrow. And everything will be fine,” I assure her. I have no idea how, but I know it will be.

Amara shifts and peers up at me. Her eyes seem like she’s searching mine, like she’s… waiting for something.

“I can’t believe this is real,” she says finally.

My heart squeezes a little. “Why?”

“Well. In case it’s not obvious, I’ve had a crush on you since I was… well, as long as I can remember.”

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

“And fight against the hordes of women that you had to constantly beat off? No thank you,” she scoffs.

I shuffle, tugging her closer. “I would have chosen you.”

“Hopefully not when I was twelve,” she whispers.

“I would have chosen you if you’d told me.”

She blinks up at me, her hazel eyes wide and trusting. “Jasper…”

“I’m not letting you go, Amara. I’ve missed out on so much already. I’m not going back to a life without you.”

“I’ve always been in your life.”

“Not like this,” I reply.

“What does that mean?”

“It means that I’m going to talk to Nolan about us.”
