“Izzy, no.” It comes out harsher than I intended, and I catch a flash of hurt that crosses her features.
“Okay, Emma.” She fires it right back at me, and this is what I truly miss. The fact that she doesn’t back down from anything and will give it right back to you.
“I should get going. I have a class to teach.” She says and gets up, but right before leaving, she stops, looking down at me. “Keep in touch, okay?”
I nod my head, and with that, she walks away. Knowing that we won’t, and I’m okay with that.
Hunter pulls me into his side, holding me. “We should head back before it gets too late,” I say.
We walk through the doors and I realize then that we never got any ice cream.
“Finding Nemo, Finding Nemo, Finding Nemo,” Caden chants repeatedly until Lakend chucks a handful of popcorn at him.
“We have watched Finding Nemo every weekend for the last three weeks,” Lakeland rolls his eyes and continues scrolling through the Disney Plus to find a movie for us to watch.
“Please, anything but Finding Nemo,” Aurora begs.
When Hunter and I got back, a collective decision was made that a movie night would be held tonight. All I wanted to do was crawl underneath the covers and stay there till our flight home tomorrow. I attempted to take two steps towards the bedroom but Hunter pulled me back, looking at me. His eyes softened, and I could see him telling me that it was okay and we'd talk about what happened later.
“Alright, boys, that’s enough,” Leslie walks in with a tray of drinks and more bowls of popcorn. “How about we let Emma or Hunter choose the movie?” She looks towards us before setting the tray down.
I turn to look at Hunter and we both know exactly what we are going to pick.
“Mulan,” We both say, and laughter fills the room as Lakeland presses play.
“That’s still your favorite Disney Movie?” My Dad asks, walking into the living room and sitting next to Leslie.
“Sure is,” I smile at him.
I lean into Hunter, and he wraps a blanket around us as the opening credits start.
I’m stirred awake, and when I open my eyes, the room is blanketed in darkness except for the small light that's on an end table. Looking up, I see Hunter holding out his hand. I notice then, that the TV is turned off, and everyone is gone.
“I fell asleep, didn’t I?” I rub the sleep out of my eyes and take his hand.
“You sure did, within minutes of the movie starting, actually.” He threads our fingers together, and we walk to my room.
“It’s been an odd day, and I think my brain is just over-exhausted.” We walk into the room, and I immediately crawl onto the bed and underneath the covers. “Is it bad that I’m excited to be going home tomorrow?”
It’s not that I’m unhappy being here, I just miss home.
“Nope, it's not bad at all.” He pulls his shirt off, and my eyes trail over his toned tan skin. I bite the corner of my lip, resisting myself not to reach out and trace my fingers over every part of him.
“Emma.” Hunter’s voice is deep and husky and my eyes snap up to his. They are a darker shade of blue and filled with desire.
“Yeah?” It comes out breathless and yearning.
“You can’t be looking at me like that when we are under your Dad’s roof.” He tells me, voice deeper and hands fisting the sheets.
I wonder what else those hands could do, especially those fingers? I rub my thighs together, hoping he doesn’t notice, but he does because his eyes snap to where my legs are, and it makes my body overheat.
“Why’s that?” I taunt.
His only answer is a smirk as he climbs into the bed, and my heart beats frantically. When he lays down, we are so close that I would just have to lean a little bit then his lips would be on mine. His hand comes to my hip and he brushes over my skin, sending goosebumps over my skin.
“Because the things I want to do to you right now require us to be alone,” He leans forward and nips at my bottom lip, causing me to whimper, “and I want you to scream my name.”
Fucking christ.
