“I can’t believe it took us that long just to get a path out to the truck cleared.” Erik says while pulling his extra hoodie off over his head. The trail of hair on his stomach leading into his pants draws my attention. A spark of something coursing through my body.

“Right?! That drift was well over my head, I hope the plows are able to clear the road, and all we have to do is get down the driveway.” I say in a tone that’s a bit higher pitched than natural. But he doesn’t seem to notice.

“Being in the park, they should have it cleared, they might even come up the driveway too if they know we’re up here,” he says.

“How about something warm to drink?”

“Sure, just relax. I will get it.”

Erik starts the kettle.

We sit close to the fire, wrapped in blankets.

Chapter 10

Erik

Ifind myself watching Lissy as she sits, lost in thought. The storm has finally cleared, leaving a breathtaking blanket of snow in its wake. I take a deep breath, the scent of pine and fresh snow filling the air. “We need to talk,” I say, my voice firmer than I feel. She turns, her expression a mix of surprise and something else, something hopeful.

We sit facing each other, the distance of the room feeling like miles. “I can’t stop thinking about you,” I confess, my heart pounding in my chest. She bites her lip, her eyes searching mine. The silence stretches, filled with unspoken questions and the soft crackling of the fire.

Finally, she speaks. “I feel the same,” she whispers, her voice barely audible. Relief floods through me, mixing with a growing sense of excitement. We move closer, the space between us disappearing, as we embrace the truth of our feelings.

I feel a sense of urgency, a need to express what's been growing inside me. "I've never met anyone like you, Lissy," I say, the words coming out more heartfelt than I intend. She looks up, a softness in her eyes that I haven't seen before. "Erik, this...us...it was unexpected," she admits, her voice tinged with a vulnerability that makes my heart skip a beat.

The future looming ahead of us like an uncharted path. The warmth of the cabin seems to envelop us, creating a safe space for our confessions.

"I don't know what happens when we leave here," she says, her gaze steady on mine. "But I do know that I don't want this to end."

Her words resonate within me, echoing my own thoughts. The fire crackles in the background, a testament to the warmth and light we've found in each other amidst the storm.

The moment feels suspended in time, a turning point in both our lives. Slowly, I reach out, taking her hand in mine. The contact sends a jolt of electricity through me, a connection that feels both new and as old as time.

We lean in, the gap closing as we share a kiss, tentative at first, but quickly deepening.

Chapter 11

Lissy

Ican’t believe this is really happening. His soft lips against mine have my stomach doing flips. It’s as if he flipped a switch to a furnace. The heat pooling directly between my legs.

“You’re so fucking sexy.” He mumbled the compliment against my lips.

When he threads his hands into my hair, and takes my mouth again in a searing kiss, I am done for.

My hands start to wander his body as we taste and tangle our tongues. His hard planes of muscle are traced by my fingertips without thought. The ridges of each individual one of his abs can be felt against my body as he presses in closer.

“Erik.” I whisper his name. It’s breathy and needy, and I want so much more than just kissing.

My core is throbbing, begging to be touched. His arousal is evident now, pressing into my thigh as he rolls his hips against me.

“I can’t believe it took a snowstorm to make this happen. I’ve been wanting you for a long time.”

His honesty is almost more than I can handle. I feel another emotion creep in behind the immense lust that is nearly overpowering everything else. It’s clearly there though.

I look deep into his eyes as he pushes up, his arms around me like a cage.

“You told everyone you were single to concentrate on your game. So you could go pro after college.”
