My cellphone has not stopped ringing all morning and is firmly in first place over the alcohol I had last night for causing the bloody fucking headache of the century.
Or is it my little sister?
The one I couldn’t stop thinking of last night, which led to my jerking off until I finally fell asleep, only to wake up panting from the most spectacular dream I’ve ever had. I was on a mission to find her this morning and make it a reality until I saw her in that little prick’s arms.
Now, I want to throttle the poor guy, throw her over my shoulder like the Neanderthal I’ve been acting like, and shout to the world that Jade Kilroy is MINE.
Of course, I can’t do any of those things without sinking my flagship on her native voyage.
“WHAT!” I finally answer my phone just to make the ringing stop.
“Well, you’re in a right foul mood. I’m guessing you haven’t seen the press release?” Jeffery’s voice is calm and smooth, which helps level me out a little.
“My apologies. It’s been a taxing morning.” And evening, but no need to burden him with my sexual frustrations.
“Well, this should cheer you right up then. The launch is a complete success. Warehouses are already on backorder.” Wait, what?
“Are you serious?” I reach out for my chair before I fall on my arse.
“When have you known me to exaggerate?” Fucking never.
“This is fantastic news.” I bite my thumbnail and smile.
I knew the products would do well but our predictions would have never shown this.
“Thank the model.” My eyes narrow at his tone.
“You cheeky bastard. You knew it was Jade.” He chuckles without responding.
“I should give you raise.” I muse as I think of how my father will be proud of my first day as CEO.
“Can I have that in writing,” Jeffery says of hand as shouting fills his side of the conversation.
“No, where are you?” He sighs as quiet returns after hearing a car door shut.
“Kilroy Corp. The Paps are everywhere. They’re like a bunch of salivating dogs wanting more information on Jade. You really haven’t looked at any of the socials?” I shake my head as I sigh.
“Fuck Ciarán. I know the products are fabulous, but this was Jade. Her face sold this for us. You need to see what they’re saying. And if the Paps are this aggressive at headquarters, may I suggest a security detail.” My heart starts to race as I start my computer and quickly look at the tags that pop up.
“Gods,” I whisper.
“Exactly. I know you get it. She’s the newest internet sensation, so do right by her.” I nod and hung up.
I dial her number and curse when it’s almost rung out without an answer.
“Hello,” her tone is clipped, telling me she’s still upset.
Alright, she’s downright pissed at my actions, but I have no time to coddle her.
“Jade, have you seen the press release?” She huffs at me.
Guess that’s a yes.
“Listen, I could have never expected this, so I’m sorry. Where are you? I’ll have Phillip meet you with security.” The phone goes dead.
What the fuck.
I call her back but it goes to voicemail. Of all the petulant, childish actions! I call Phillip, my head of security, next.
