“What?”

“The cut and the glass,” I whisper.

“No. Do you trust me?” he asks.

I pause, watching him as he goes completely still.

Then I nod.

Yeah, I do trust him.

CHAPTER SIX-LUC

Holy fucking hell.

I could’ve killed that man with my bare hands for what he did. Luckily, Angel brought me back to reality when I heard his sharp voice growl my name.

Then I saw Maria covered in water and glass, and my attention was diverted.

Now, she’s here in my office and I’m both elated and nervous as fuck.

Imagine that.

Me.

Nervous.

I lead her to the bathroom by her hand and motion her to sit on top of the closed toilet while I gather some first-aid supplies.

We had to pass the bedroom to get here, and the door was already open. I know she saw it, and I don’t know what she’s thinking.

I mean, I want her.

I plan on fucking her.

But I’m not going to just pounce on her like some animal.

I take a deep breath as I face her, and I take the towel from where she’s holding it against her skin.

Fuck.

She smells so good. Like honey and lilacs.

It’s a combination of fragrances I never smelled on a woman.

It whets my appetite.

Makes me want to lean in close and drag my nose along her clavicle, down to where her plump breasts are straining against her destroyed top.

“This is ruined,” I murmur, and I look into her eyes as I take her straps in my hands.

She nods. Then she shivers.

“You’re cold.”

It’s not a question, and I know what I’m about to do is uncomfortable, but I can’t leave her sitting in that fucking tank top.

Just looking at it makes me mad all over again.
