“That was,” I say, after he cleans me up and puts my skirt back in place.

“Yes, it was,” he grins and kisses me on the lips.

No matter what, I am never prepared for Luc’s kisses.

They are always equal parts seduction and desperation, and I am officially addicted to them.

“Let’s go.”

“Where?”

“You said you want to work, so come on,” he opens the door.

“You’re coming to the bar. You never do that.”

I should know. For months, I’ve been curious about him. Nico and Angel always make appearances on the floor.

But Luc never does.

Well, not until recently.

“Get a move on, Baby Girl. After your shift, we have to go get somethings from your apartment.”

One thing I have learned about him is Luc is incredibly bossy. I mean, I get it, he’s rich and powerful and educated. And he is damn well used to getting his way.

It shouldn’t be sexy. But like everything else with him, it is.

His walk is determined, and his path straightforward.

I’ve gotten used to him leading me around like a puppy. But he is not doing that now.

He has me tight to his side. And I like it.

“What things do we need from my apartment?” I ask.

“Some clothes for you. Your toiletries. Stuff like that.”

“What? Why?”

He opens the bar hatch and I walk through, still not understanding as he follows me.

Antonio gets out of our way, and I move to my usual side of the bar.

“Didn’t I tell you?” Luc says, grabbing the stool I sometimes use when taking a break and leaning his hip against it as he faces the growing crowd.

“You’re moving in with me.”

CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN-LUC

“Luc, this is crazy,” Maria says, and I know she’s just nervous.

But my mind is made up.

“And I’m crazy about you, so it makes sense,” I tell her, and I feel her eyes on me.

I know she needs more.

She’s told me she loves me, and all I say is I’m crazy about you?
