“You need to answer it or he will fly back here,” Xander says from the other side of the bed as her phone rings again for the thousandth time. Doxy groans from her position in the middle of us.

“I’ll suck your cock if you answer it?” she volleys back. Xan lulls his head to the side and pins her with a deadpan look.

“That may have worked the last three times but it won’t this time.” She pouts at him before rolling over to face me and batting her lashes.

I snort and shake my head. “Nope. Answer the call, Doxy. He just wants to know you’re okay.” She groans and holds her hand out for me to place the phone in her palm. Being locked up in this room has been amazing, getting to know her and seeing this softer side, but Xander and I both know she is also using this as a time to hide because she’s scared the moment she leaves this room, all the bad things that she escaped are going to come back and swallow her whole.

“Knoxville?” she says when she answers the phone.

“I’ve been calling!” he shouts loud enough for me to hear.

“I know,” she bites back.

“Why didn’t you answer?”

“Because I’m not a fucking child and also not your concern. I told you I would see you before we leave and I meant it. Stop calling, Knox!” she snarls before ending the call and throwing her phone across the room. It doesn’t shatter against the wall which just seems to piss her off more.

“Baby—”

“Don’t, Xander, I don’t want to fucking hear it,” she snaps before she climbs off the bed and dashes into the bathroom, slamming the door behind her.

“We need to go,” I say.

“I know.”

“Nano and the guys aren’t willing to make a move on any of the clubs until she is back in Ireland and gives the okay.”

He sighs and runs a hand through his hair. “We leave tonight,” he says as he grabs his own phone from the bedside table and calls someone. “Lake?” My eyes widened in surprise that he called her. “Yeah, she’s fine. Knox is just being overbearing and it’s pissing her off.” He pauses to listen to what she says. “Can you get him to send the plane, we’re coming tonight. Yeah, but, Lake, she is gonna need you.” I tune him out, climb out of the bed and get dressed. We sent our clothes to be laundered downstairs, it feels weird wearing them again after being naked for days.

A short while later Doxy comes out of the bathroom, showered and dressed with a scornful look on her face but her eyes betray her, I see the fear.

“Don’t let me lose myself,” she whispers. Both Xan and I rush forward, hugging her between us both.

“Never,” he vows.

“We will always bring you back because we choose you,” I say as I place a kiss to the top of her head.

Xander

The entire plane ride was filled with tension. Wave couldn’t sit still and paced the length of the plane, driving both Trey and me mad. Trey finally lost it and forced her ass into a seat and told her if she moved he wouldn’t eat her out for a week. She tried to drag me into their disagreement but I backed Trey. She refused to speak to both of us after that and has retreated back inside herself. When we landed, she practically ran off the plane and climbed into the waiting car, making sure to take the front seat, leaving Trey and I to sit together in the back.

She can try to play off that she isn’t worried or even scared but I can see her gazing out the window and squinting her eyes to try to get a better look at certain things. As we pull into Knox’s drive, she grows stiff. When the driver brings the car to a stop out the front of the house she doesn’t move. Leaning forward, I tap Marco on the shoulder indicating for him to get the hell out and give us a minute, which he does.

“We’re here, baby,” Trey says softly.

“Going in there and seeing the life they have created without me…” She lets her sentence trail off.

“There was no life for any of us without you in it. Their son is named after you and River. Pictures of you hang on the walls of that house. I have photos of you and me together in my room. You were never forgotten, baby, I swear,” I reassure her.

“I'm scared to be alone,” she blurts out.

“You will never be alone again, Xander and I will always be with you. I know it’s just words but give us time to prove to you that we mean what we say. We will never allow you to feel nothing again. It’s going to take time for you to feel like your old self, Doxy.” She sighs as she shifts in her chair to look back at us.

“If that’s the case, then I need you to do something for me.” Trey and I both nod our heads. “To all my men and the girls I will always be known as Doxy because that is who I will be when they are around but to you both… I want to be Waverly.” Pride swells inside me, fuck she is so strong. She doesn’t wait for a reply from us, climbing out of the car. Trey and I follow after her in time to see Clara and Roberto exiting the house. At the sight of her father, Wave slams to a stop. Both me and Trey flank her on either side, showing her without words that we have her.

Roberto slowly makes his way to us with Clara at his side. He stops a few steps away from us, tears clouding his eyes as he looks at his daughter. I discreetly interlock my fingers with hers and give her hand a squeeze.

“God, you’re beautiful,” he says quietly. She sucks in a sharp breath at the sound of his voice.
