“So all is forgiven with the Crows?” one of our Chicago members, Wrench, asks.
Quick, our Road Captain pipes up, “Fuck no. All is not forgiven or forgotten,” and slams his hands on the table.
Wolfe gives him a death glare. “We are working to mend our relationship with them since finding out Ronny was behind most of our fights.”
“Okay, let’s get through this timeline so we can move on to other shit,” Dallas says, sounding irritated.
Dallas continues as the room becomes silent. “Raydene left with Dexter. The Russians confronted Izzy regarding her ex-boyfriend Dominic’s disappearance. Then Doc and Snow are taken by Ronny, along with Blaze, president of the Devil Duos, and his sister Karma, president of the Devil Dames.”
I groan hearing Dallas mention Raydene leaving with her man. I tune him out, thinking about how I haven’t heard from her since right after she left. She’s been texting the girls but only short answers. Something’s wrong. I can feel it in my bones. And I can’t sleep with my dead sister haunting my dreams.
“I knew Brick loved her,” Sal says, cutting into my thoughts. “I knew about the arrangement my son had with Brick. I saw how he looked at her, even before Anthony was killed. I admired him for being there for her and not trying to control or change her.”
“I don’t think anyone will be able to control that woman. But I do know Brick respected your son, and to his dying breath, held his promise to Anthony to keep her safe,” Wolfe says directly to Sal.
Sal nods.
Brick was our president here at the Chicago chapter. He was a good friend too. It’s been one week since his celebration of life and close to a month since his death. Brick was good friends with Sal’s son, Anthony, who died five years ago. Anthony was Vi’s husband, and Brick swore he would keep her safe.
When we arrived in Chicago, the Chingas did a drive-by aiming for Vi, but Brick stood in front of her to protect her.
Since Brick’s death, we’ve managed to wipe out every single Chinga. The Wolfeman and Reapers worked together to make that happen. Especially after we found out who our rats were.
Marcus’s ex-girlfriend, Veronica, came to the clubhouse and tried to kill Vi at the celebration of life. She was jealous of Vi. Marcus always picked his cousin over her and sometimes the gang. Vi was shot in the scuffle with Veronica, but she overpowered her and got control of the gun and shot Veronica.
“So Veronica, that pinche puta, ratted to the Chingas, giving them our intel, but I don’t understand how Sarge and Veronica became connected,” Jacker speaks for the first time.
“I’ve been around Brick since before Tone died,” Marcus answers. “Puta probably came sniffing around the clubhouse once I eighty-sixed her pinche ass from the shop.”
“Sarge told us she was buying drugs off him, and when he found out she hated Vi, they started collaborating. Sarge had it out for Vi too.” Wolfe explains.
We had to dispose of one of our own brothers. Sarge was the VP here in Chicago. It ended badly for all those following him, planning to snuff out Brick and Vi so Sarge could take over.
“So what’s the plan? What do you need from us?” Sal says impatiently.
“We need to figure out what Dexter, JJ, and King are up to. We need to find out if Rayaan and Lenny are still around and involved. But most of all, we need to figure out what the Russians have up their sleeve,” Dallas informs the room.
“What about Karma?” Shy questions.
He’s been looking for her and won’t stop until he finds her. She’s the one who fucked up Snow when they were taken. We found out from Snow that Karma wants revenge for killing Emmett, even though Alex is the one who pulled the trigger.
My phone vibrates. We usually don’t have our phones in meetings, but this technically isn’t a club meeting, so I pull it out.
Blink: I got a tip. Meet me at the hotel.
My heart skips a beat.
ME: On my way.
I stand up.
“I got to go. It’s Blink. He has a lead on Ray,” I snap.
“We’re in a meeting,” Shy says like I don’t know.
I protest, “I know, but we haven’t had a lead in weeks.”
“Let him go. I can’t even find the girl,” Marcus replies. Knowing I’ve been going crazy, since I don’t know where she is or if she is okay.
