“I need to go through all of these and weed out the shitty ones. Anything worth listening to we send up to Luc. I am so tired of listening to shitty music. I need a girls’ night.” She pouts.

For real? This has to be a joke.

I look over to Izzy and back to Eva. “Is this a joke?” I ask Izzy.

She laughs, ignoring me and walking over to stand in front of Eva’s desk. “Well, you’re in luck. I’m playing at Club Zero tonight. You should come out and keep Ruby entertained while I play. Gin is coming too. It will be like old times, minus Alex.”

I jump when Eva squeals, jumping up from her seat.

Jesus Christ, she’s loud.

I clench my heart. She almost gave me a heart attack.

We say our goodbyes and set a time to meet up later. My mind is going a hundred miles a minute thinking about that job. Could I really do it? Move away from the only place that I’ve ever called home?

The elevator’s dings bringing me back to reality. When the doors open, three big motherfuckers are standing in the doorway chatting. When they turn to enter the elevator, I inhale.

Jesus, what the fuck do they feed these guys here in New York.

They’re all at least six foot, and for me being five foot’ish, that’s one big dude. I see Gus is the last one to enter and Izzy beams when she sees him, while moving closer to me and giving the guys room.

“Iz, what’s up, legs?” the first guy that entered says, smiling as he moves closer to me. He has a black long sleeve Hurley shirt with jeans and has the burly caveman look going with an overgrown beard and shaggy hair.

Legs? Do they call Izzy legs?

“Chilling like a villain, what about you? What brings the Wolfemen here to Spin?”

The second guy gives Izzy a head nod and moves to the other side of the first guy leaving room for Gus to stand next to Izzy. I watch all the men form a semi-circle around us.

“We’re here to get the lowdown for tonight. With most of Luc’s guys are out of town, so the MC is helping out with your security tonight.”

Security? I look to Izzy for answers.

Izzy folds her arms looking irritated. “Why all the security. I usually just have Gus with me.”

Gus grunts, “Iz, let it go.”

Izzy turns to him. “Let what go? We haven’t had a problem in a few months. Why all the security? Is something going on and you’re not telling me?”

Gus says something I think in Irish but can barely hear him.

Izzy’s about ready to flip out when dude says, “Iz, it's just for precaution. Club Zero isn’t a well-secured club, and fights happen there all the time. We just want to make sure you girls are secure.”

Izzy turns her irritation to the guy. “Mac, I get it but don’t you have a lounge to run? You don't need to be watching over us all the time.”

Mac stands at full height. “My cousin is my number one priority. We’ll always watch over her.”

Holyshitballs.

Thisis Ginger’s cousin, who co-owns White Wolf Lounge with Shy? Jesus, he’s gorgeous - scary as fuck but gorgeous.

Izzy backs down. “I get it. I just want to make sure you're not keeping anything from us.”

Mac leans back and turns his attention to me. “So, you must be the firecracker I’ve been hearing about all fucking day?”

Gus nods his head with a chuckle. The other dude smirks, looking at me.

I push my shoulders back and take a step toward Mac. “Are you talking about me? Who called me firecracker?” I snap.
