Page 20 of Such a Good Omega

No words, but I could feel the approval all the same. I’d grown more self-confident while under the care of my alpha. He praised me when I did well and, when I made a mistake, he was kind and understanding, I left those interactions without a shred of guilt or worry.

Talon was my mate. Even if I made mistakes or messed something up, his love for me wouldn’t change.

I listened to him negotiate with Dennis Britt, a man who often tried to undercut my mate, but he was having none of it.

In the end, Britt paid 20 percent more than the appraisal, and Talon had turned a significant profit.

“Come here, Rowan.” He patted his thigh, and I got up from my desk and sat on his lap. “You got me the numbers right on time. You were listening and I was able to close that deal because of you. You’re so smart and sharp. I’m so glad I decided to bring you in to work with me.”

I nearly melted into a pile of goo. “You’ve taught me well. Thank you, alpha.”

He sat back and rubbed circles around my belly. “You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me, Rowan. I should be thanking you. You’re the best mate a male could ask for, and you’re growing our babe inside you. What a perfect omega.”

I accepted all his belly rubs and praise with gratitude.

“How about you and I go out for dinner tonight?” he asked. “What are you craving?”

I shrugged. Sometimes I felt overly spoiled. “I could eat anything.”

“Tell the truth, Rowan. I can’t care for you properly if I don’t know what you need or want. Tell your alpha. I know you want something.”

I relented. “This little wolf is craving meat. I would love to go to the Brazilian place where they bring the meat to the table.”

It was hard to lay out my wants and needs sometimes, but Talon taught me how important it was. Not telling him my needs was a form of lying.

“Would you mind if I did something first?” I knew that tone. We might not make it to dinner at all.

“Depends on what it is,” I teased as his hand left my belly and moved to my upper thigh.

He chuckled. “I would like to take you to the living room and give you what you need. I’ve been scenting your arousal for hours, mate.”

“Why the living room?” I asked, curious.

“I like to experiment in all different places in the house. You know that.”

“Hmm, okay. Let’s go. I’m starving.” He was right. I was all kinds of starving.

We got to the living room. It was nearly dark, and he turned the fireplace on. The nights had become chilly and I was glad he decided to light it.

“Clothes off, omega. I want to see you naked on this rug.”

The rug in question looked like a bearskin but was actually fake fur.

“We’ve never made love here,” I said.

“That’s exactly why it’s been on my mind. I want to see you come apart right here with the fire flickering in your eyes.”

Talon had specific tastes and detailed fantasies. I was happy to oblige.

I stripped and lay down on the rug. “Arms behind your head.”

Whimpering, I did what I was told. “I can’t touch you, alpha?”

“Not this time.”

He kneeled in front of me and looked at me with such love. “I love you, Rowan James. More than anything else in this life.”

“I love you, alpha. Please. Do what you will with me. I’m dying for you.”
