When the reporter comes back on, though, I tune in. “Johnny, you said Neil Johnson had been declared missing?”

“That’s right, Carl. He was reported missing almost three months ago. Police say identifying evidence will be difficult, as he was in the water for that entire time. They are asking the public for help in identifying the culprits. Back to you.”

“And in other news … ”

I just stand there. Dazed. It’s a minute before I realize June’s hand is waving in my face. Tears stream down her cheeks. “What do we do?”
