ORIA

16 Months Later

“Soren, we don’t have time,” I moaned, as he pushed me against the wall as I got out of the bathroom.

“All I need is ten minutes.” He kissed the side of my neck.

“Are you sure?” I gasped when he sucked on my neck. “You're usually done in two minutes.”

He pulled away from me and I laughed from his hurt expression.

“I’ll show you two minutes,” he growled, picking me up and swatting my butt.

“Soren, they are about to start the run.” I hit him on his ass.

He opened the door to the backyard where everyone was eating.

“Aeon is starting the blessing,” Ryder said, grabbing me from Soren.

He set me down as Aeon finished speaking next to Max.

“You couldn’t wait till after the run?” Gray chuckled.

“I was just using the restroom when I was mauled by a wild animal,” I said, leaning against Max as Aeon walked over to Ryder, handing him a small vial.

I breathed in his scent as I silently checked his body for Kark. It had been about a year since I had finally cured him and the guys, but every so often, I would check them just to be sure. Thank the goddess he was still Kark-free.

“She was begging for it before she left,” Soren said, pulling me from my impromptu scan of Kark as Ryder blessed all of us before the run.

As soon as he blessed me, I felt the last of the veil slip away.

“I don’t think I’ll ever get used to that feeling,” Gray shivered in response.

“Yeah, me neither. Feeling the dead wasn’t on my bingo card, but with that damn scythe he gave us, it’s hard to get used to the dead,” Soren said, shaking off the shivers it brought both of them.

It seemed that Death forgot to mention that with the scythe he gave them, they were given the power to feel those who passed on, and on Samhain it was even more magnified.

Max and Ryder stripped as I looked in the crowd for Katarina. She had baby Vivienne strapped to her, and it was adorable.

“Let’s run!” Aeon yelled.

Ryder and Max shifted and we took off in the pack. A few wolves brushed up against Ryder. His brother and sister came out here to spend time with Ryder. Since we had been to Fae lands a lot in the last year, I knew they missed their brother. Samira and Wyman had kept in touch and were almost done rebuilding their pack lands.

We ran along with the pack. Gray, Soren and I stayed close together, but Max and Ryder weaved in and out of other wolves, enjoying the run.

Thank you for saving him.

My steps faltered as I heard the woman’s voice in my head.

I’m so glad you were patient with them. Thank you for helping my sister. Be free and be happy.

I shivered feeling Serena’s presence.

“You felt her too?” Gray bumped my shoulder.

I nodded, not knowing what to say.
