"Oooohkay…" I lightly clicked my tongue as I cautiously moved around my kitchen to prepare some dinner for myself. I didn't set out a second serving this time, though, because I assumed the slamming doors meant a big 'no' in response to my question. There was some extra, but I packed that into the fridge for tomorrow, or possibly now, if he decided to devour my dinner when my head was turned.
Fortunately, dinner was quiet tonight for me. Not gonna lie; it felt kind of sad and lonely not to have him poke at me or pull my utensils away from me while I ate.
It was even more disappointing when I didn't see him appear in the bathroom mirror after I wiped the steam off of it after I stepped out of the shower. I actually frowned a little when my eyes were met with only my reflection. All the scares probably weren't good for my heart, but the little jolt here and there was a nice way to feel alive again, unlike now, where it remained in a steady rhythm.
With a sad sigh, I settled myself into bed after drying my hair. I should probably be happy about having some peace ever since I moved in. Yet, I couldn't help but worry about the demon and when I would see him next. I mean, there's no way he could have actually run off for good, right? It was just a kiss—one he initiated out of the blue.
The sound of shuffling and scratching against the wood brought an eager smile to my face, and my heart raced with happiness at the sounds of my sheets rustling and the bed dipping a little.
Not wasting another second, I spun around to face the edge of the bed, where a shadowy hand crept its way onto the bed.
I don't know what came over me, but my hand instantly shot out and grabbed the demon's hands, intertwining my fingers with his and death gripping him.
Quickly, I hung my head over the edge where the demon's head started to peak out from under and met a pair of widened eyes.
"What's your name?"

…
The human touched me. She touched me! She fucking reached over and grabbed my hand!
This has never happened before, a human making the first contact—especially this boldly. I wanted to grab her and scare her some to get myself back in my groove after I made the mistake of kissing her earlier. Well, I don't know if I would classify it as a mistake because it definitely didn't feel like one.
The whole thing still confused me, if I was being honest. I literally don't know what went through my ancient brain to get me to that point. I had no intention of kissing her, but my mouth found hers before I could process a plan of action.
Her reaction to my antics irritated me because they were not what I expected or planned for. Then, her replacing everything around the house with stupid plastic to ruin my fun really ticked me off. I wanted to strangle the life out of her for being so insolent, but I couldn't kill her. So, guess the next best thing my raging mind thought of was the kiss.
That damned kiss.
I had to pry myself away from her before I lost control and tore her clothes off at that moment. It hurt my pride a little to hide from her—a stupid little human. If any of my brethren found out about how I ran and hid after kissing a human because I was terrified of the feelings it brought on, then I could kiss my shadow prince's status goodbye for good.
I didn't think a simple kiss would crack open some tomb of fiery desire for more. I wanted to absolutely devour her the moment I got a taste of her. I wanted to run my hands down her plush, curvy body and grab ahold of her love handles. Then that juicy ass of hers, they were more than enough to fill my big hands. I wanted to show her just how lovely her body was.
Speaking about her body…
Slowly, I slinked out from under the bed and onto it. "Tell me why you keep starving yourself, and I'll tell you my name." I bargained in a cautious voice.
"Excuse you? I don't starve myself. I eat three full meals a day." She remarked with a pouting scowl.
"You barely eat three decent meals a day." I corrected her with a roll of my eyes. "I can see you eying my portion of the food or the ones you set out for the next day. For someone of your size and stature, and considering your work, you need more than what you portion yourself."
Probably another strange thing this human did was leave food for me. Granted, I didn't really need the food, but it was nice. It felt like forever since a human made a meal for me to enjoy. Well, at this point, it probably has been forever. The last time anyone willingly fed me was when I was first summoned.
"I'm not that hungry. I don't have much of an appetite most of the time." Such a crafted lie. Too bad I could see through it like a sheer veil.
Sighing, I eased my form to seem a little smaller as I scooted closer to her. "Human, quit lying to me. Those stupid words might work on others who don't give a shit or don't know any better, but you can never deceive me."
"I have a name, you know." She grumbled with a soft glare at me. "It's Stella."
"And I don't remember asking or wanting to know." I snarked back, not liking how she took the initiative. Sure, I might have been a little curious, but I wanted to know on my terms. At least her name wasn't too bad.
"You still haven't told me yours." She nudged at my shoulder with a poke of her finger.
Sneering, I lightly smack her hand away. "And you still haven't told me why you starve yourself." I could play this game all night.
