He tucks a strand of hair behind my ear with heartbreaking tenderness. “I knew this is how it would be with you.”
I smirk, even as his words make my heart skip. “And when did you come to that conclusion? In the five minutes we spent getting to know each other before leaving for my hotel room?”
“Something like that.”
In the ensuing silence filled only by our breathing, a ringtone blares from his pants on the floor.
I climb off him, immediately slipping under the covers. Reality hits us like a bucket of cold water as he slides out of bed, ditching the condom in the trash and checking his phone. “Shit. I better take this.”
“No problem. Thank you for—” What the hell do I thank him for? Making me come? Fucking me? Making me forget for an hour the shitstorm my life has become? The longest I’ve gotten to forget in months. Finally, I manage, “Hanging out.”
He gives me a small smile. “No problem.” He quickly slips on his pants and shirt, not bothering with the buttons before he tosses his suit jacket over his shoulder and heads for the door. God, he’s so sexy. A more beautiful man has never left my bedroom. He turns back to give me one final smirk. “Thanks for letting me...hang out.”
I smile at the easy way he teases me. Being with him is easy. Easier than being with anybody else I’ve ever met.
Too bad.
Chapter 6
Luke
Love at first sight. The stuff of fantasies. But here Sienna Carter is, waltzing into my life and making me fall in love with her the second our eyes lock.
She’s always been a pretty girl, but pictures didn’t do her justice. Years of friendship made me care about her, but meeting her in person—hearing her voice and laugh and moans, touching her, holding her, fucking her—that’s what pushed me over the edge.
I’ve fucking fallen for her, harder than I ever thought possible.
In the hotel hallway, I’ve got a grin on my face when I answer Ma’s call. “Hey.”
“Oh, good! You’re still up! I figured you were probably heading upstairs to sleep when you left the reception early. Can you come down to the hotel lobby?”
“Why?”
“I just want to go over the schedule for tomorrow morning again before we head up to bed.”
Translation: She wants to threaten me again if I don’t drop her and Mike off at the airport and move Sienna’s stuff into her dorm.
All I want to do is head back to Sienna’s room and crash after the best fuck of my life. I fantasized about sex with her being good, but I never could’ve expected it would be like that. Thank god she had condoms. The second the door closed behind us, I knew if I didn’t get to fuck her, I’d leave that room with the worst blue balls of my life.
Her moans, her whimpers, her taste...every second with her drove all the thoughts out of my head, inflated my ego to the point of no return. Her screams when she came almost convinced me she came as hard as I did.
I don’t care if we’re step-siblings now. She’s mine.
Ma is talking in my ear again, and the magical tranquility of the past hour is gone. “Meet us in the hotel lobby.”
“I’ll be right there.”
In the lobby, a few remaining stragglers from the reception amble up to their rooms or out to their cars. Ma waves to me and jumps up from her perch on Mike’s knee before running to hug me, still in her wedding dress.
She looks really fucking happy, and she deserves to be. I just wish it didn’t cost Sienna her favorite masked man.
Ma flings her arms around me, the fabric of her white dress crinkling and her flowery perfume burning my nose. I squeeze her back. She keeps her hands on my arms when she pulls back, beaming at me. “Someday, you’ll find love too.”
She has no idea I’ve already found it with my stepsister.
Behind Ma, Mike stands, a phone pressed to his ear. He strides over to us with a grin and ends the call. “Sienna got here late, but she’s up in her room and she’s coming down now to meet us.”
She’s about to get the fucking surprise of her life. They all are.
