With every thrust, he echoes the sentiment on a growl, a groan, a plea.

Mine.

Mine.

Mine.

Until I’m unraveling, heart soaring to the sky.

“You’re so fucking beautiful when you come, sweetheart.”

When we’re breathless, panting in each other’s arms, he strokes my hair behind my ear. I draw a finger over his bare chest, writing mine over and over. “I imagined meeting Ten so many times. I never could’ve imagined this is how it would go.”

Luke stiffens beneath me. “I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be. I’m glad it turned out this way. I’m glad I finally met you.”

His arm wrapped around me tightens. “I’m glad I finally met you too. You’re the best thing that ever happened to me.”

“There’s a lot I wanted to ask Ten when we finally met, though.” I prop myself up on an elbow. “Did you actually watch Jurassic Park eleven times?”

He grins. “The twelfth time I watch it, I’m going to make you watch it with me. Is your favorite ice cream actually that disgusting raspberry flavor?”

I give his shoulder a playful whack. “You mean delicious.”

We fall silent, smiling at each other in blissful happiness. My heart is so full.

“I’m really glad it was you behind the mask. That’s what I was hoping for since the moment I met you at that hotel.”

“That’s when I knew too.”

“Knew what?”

His thumb strokes over my cheek. “That you were mine.”

I can’t believe I got this lucky. That the man beneath the mask was Luke Valentine.

Epilogue

Luke

We’re back on the ice on campus before the fall semester officially starts. But I can’t focus on practice today.

Sienna will be here in a few hours. She’s staying with me and Ma until the semester begins. Under the condition that we don’t “fornicate” in her house.

So I’ll make sure she’s not home when we do. Gives Sienna the chance to scream my name anyway.

We’ve been texting every day again, just like old times. Except now she sends me dirty texts and pictures, and I do the same. With the mask on. She’s been enjoying living with both of her parents again, so I haven’t pushed her to come back earlier. She needs this time with them, especially Mike. They have years of catching up to do. I’ll have the rest of my life with her.

Not sure how I went so many years without meeting her, without holding her in my arms. But I won’t waste another second of the time I get with her now.

I block the puck when Finn sends it my way. Then again when Damien gains control. Bastards are relentless today. I owe them a lot for protecting Sienna that night. For having my back. Even if they drive me fucking nuts, I wouldn’t pick anyone else to call my teammates. My brothers.

“Thought your girl wasn’t supposed to be back until later?” Damien shouts.

“She’s not.”

He nods at the empty bleachers.
