Page 11 of When Life Sucks!

Melody does not know we’d not kill her until the baby is born. It is a gift of a child for someone, but it won’t be for her. I turn in time to see Sacks open his mouth to spill some shit, but quickly cut him off. “If I were you, Sacks, I’d shut the fuck up before you have to answer to Beast, and you will have to answer to him.”

“Fuck off, I did what my club asked of me.”

“Yeah, and you did it so well that you have a baby in her belly,” pointing at Melody, “and lost Alice in the process. Fancy losing Alice for this scum bucket!”

Sacks steps toward me and has a nasty look on his face, but I want to push this dick. “I’m gonna go after her myself. Why…Beast adores her, he may want her as he’s not gotten an old lady.”

When Sacks surges toward me I let the punch fly that I’ve been itching to make, and we get into an all-out brawl. I’m getting at least three punches in to his one, but I can’t help but enjoy every one of mine that lands.

Lethal and Gunner split us up and I give a bloody grin at Sacks, who is going to have a nice black eye in the morning. But what has me even happier is Melody shaking in the corner of the room. Pointing at her, I laugh, “Your time is ending. Start saying your prayers. Before you go, Lethal wants a word with you.”

Throwing my head back, I laugh as I leave the room, pass a stunned prospect, and head back to the office. We now just have to wait for Lethal to get all the information we want.

Back in the office, I take a seat, placing the ankle of one leg onto the knee of the other, lean back, and fold my arms over my chest while I watch and listen to Beast speaking with Bolt.

“Since when does anyone under house arrest get out and wander the town, then fuckin’ come back for their evening meal?” Beast is snarling and I can see spittle flying as he’s so forceful.

“You know what, Beast, I resign. I’ve had more than enough of being on everyone’s back, working my ass off from morning to bedtime. All I’m doing is working. Not a single day goes by that I’m doing something that I want to do for myself. I’m done. You can find someone else to run the fuckin’ club, and I’ll be a brother and live my life just as they are all doing.

“As for Alice, I regret the way I ruined her relationship with Sacks, but you know what, if she’d been mine and you’d asked me to fuck someone else for the club? I’d have said fuck her yourself. So, it’s not all on my back. Sacks had no qualms about fucking that bitch, and if he’s stuck with a brat from her, then so be it.” Bolt rips the president’s patch from his cut and storms out of the office, leaving me with my mouth slightly open and my father not looking so much like the Beast we all call him.

“What the fuck just happened?”

Laughing at his expression, I can’t help but have a dig at him. “Well, Dad, it looks like you lost a president after you reamed his ass this late at night, and he was obviously at the end of his rope.”

“Yeah, well, I wouldn’t laugh if I were you.” Throwing the president's patch at me with a fuckin’ smirk on his face. Waltzing out of the office and into the common room with a hell of a purpose to his stride.

The music dies when the bar girl sees Beast giving her a signal. “NOW LISTEN UP, MOTHERFUCKERS. Your President has stood down, due to the fact you are all assholes. Look at this place, and where did I find Bolt? In the office still working his ass off at this time of the night, for you, for every one of you, to have a decent club. Well, now you got yourself a new president, at least for the time being. Jax, come here.”

Shaking my head and giving Bolt a dirty look as he’s standing at the bar with a beer in one hand and a shot in the other. But it’s the fuckin’ grin on his face that has me wanting to knock his head off. However, the next thing out of Beast's mouth has the grin going and a frown appearing. Now, it’s my turn to grin.

“Jax, President and his VP is Bolt, no argument. Gunner is the Sargeant-at-Arms, and he better make sure the constitution of the club and the rules are followed. Lethal is your Enforcer. I’m not taking votes or other shit. This is how it’s gonna be, and I’ll be here a few days to make sure you all pull your fuckin’ weight from now on.”

Walking out of the common room, I point at Bolt to follow me. Back in the office, I rip the door off its last hinge and throw it in the hallway. That can be mended or replaced tomorrow. I’ve no time to fuck with it now.

Bolt walks into the office and takes a seat, giving me a broad smile. “I know you didn’t want the job, Jax, but I’ve had enough. I’m tired and if I’m honest, I’d rather follow orders than give them.”

“Beast told me I had to have experience at being a president of a chapter, but I've always held off as I thought every chapter was being run well. I know you’ve had issues with some brothers and respect, but I’ve never had that problem with them. I never in a million years thought I would be the president here, but if you are good with it, I’ll take it, since Beast isn’t giving me an option anyway, and will run with you as my VP.”

“I’m good with VP, and I will show you how things are being done, what I have lined up, and what I’ve been getting closer to completing.”

“Okay. Go home, get some rest. Have tomorrow off, then we’ll get together and make a start remodeling the way things work, and the respect the brothers give.”

Beast walks into the office, and a few minutes later, Bolt leaves. I get the go-ahead to do what is needed to turn the club around.

“Do Lethal and Gunner know what has happened?” I ask, but before he can reply, the two mentioned saunter into the office.

“Yeah, we know, and we’re good with it,” Gunner responds.

“What did you get out of Melody?”

Lethal grins, “Well, for a start, she’s not fuckin’ pregnant with Sacks' baby. That was all said to hurt Alice. Seems the friend wasn’t such a friend after all. She’s the old lady of Sting and has been reporting back to him any information that he wanted. She had to get with a brother to hear what was being discussed around the common room.”

“How the hell could we have missed that she wasn’t pregnant?” I ask.

“She wasn’t pregnant. It was all a ruse to catch Sacks as her old man. She’s nothing but a bitch looking to score, whether it be a man for cash or a bag of white.” Lethal shrugs because he doesn’t give a shit, and that fact is written all over his face.

“Well, that fuckin’ stops tomorrow. Lethal, you get every brother here for lunch tomorrow. I don’t care about any excuses. They either come at lunch or they don’t come back at all and return their cut.
