I nod, “that, my friend, is where you come in.” He looks at me in question, “You didn’t get home until four, I take it you are back to your whoring ways?”
He scowls at me, “I have a lot of love to give. The ladies love me.”
“Uh-huh. So who was the lucky lady?” I saw him eyeing the red head last night that had come into the bar with Katie.
“The redhead. Fuck, she was amazing.”
I roll my eyes, “Did you get her number?”
A slow smile forms as he nods, “it’s time to get your woman back.”
A-fucking-men to that.
CHAPTER 8
KATIE
When I wake up the next morning, not only does my head hurt but so does my heart. Oh and so do my girlie bits. They ache for Garret to fill me again. The sex was amazing. I won’t deny that. We’ve both grown up over the last few years and he’s had a lot more experience than the last time he slept with me. But god it was good.
I wish I’d stayed so that we could have done it again, but he would have wanted to talk and I don’t want that. I need to move on and forget about him. That’ll be easy, right? Not so sure about that.
Grabbing a cup of coffee in the kitchen, Mindy siddles up to me. “So, did you get some cock last night, Katie?” I splutter coffee all over the place. She laughs and raises her eyebrows at me.
“I saw you leave early, it didn’t take you long to pull someone. You’re a dark horse, aren’t you.” She sips her own coffee, giving me time to recuperate.
“He was an old friend. I’ve not seen him for years.”
“An old friend, huh? Looked more than a friend, he couldn’t take his eyes off you. He looked familiar, but I guess if he hangs around the club then we’ve seen him before. So did he take you back to his place?”
“Yeah we had a lot to talk about.”
“Did you get around to talking?” She winks at me and smiles. I guess this is what it’s like having girlfriends. You can confide in them. I’m so used to keeping everything to myself that I find it hard to share. But I might as well start now.
“We did more than talk. He’s an animal in bed.”
Mindy jumps up and down squealing and Trixie walks in rubbing her eyes. “What’s going on? Why are you two so excited? Mindy, did you get some dick last night?”
She smiles. “Yeah, I sure did. You should have seen him because he was huge. But I’m not the only one. Katie here did too.”
Trixie looks at me. “Well, well, well. That’s not what I expected. I thought you were a goody two shoes. So, tell us all about him. Was he big? How many times did you orgasm? Come on girl, we want the deets.”
I tell them about Garret, how good he was to me, how loving he was. Then I tell them that he was the guy I lost my virginity to years earlier. They go all gooey eyed and we all crash on the couch. I can’t help myself but I start to cry.
“Hey, babe was he horrible to you? What’s wrong?’ Trixie reaches out and takes my hand.
“No, he was wonderful, but after the shock of seeing him I told him it was only for one night. I can’t go through the breakup like I did the first time. I can’t do that to myself. I thought I was over him, but after last night I want more. But I promised myself I wouldn't see him again.”
“Babe, look it’s up to you what you do from now on. Who’s to say that it wouldn’t work this time? Do you want to shut that down so quickly? You clearly have a connection with each other - the air was on fire between you before he even reached you in the club.”
“Yeah, we do have a connection, but it doesn’t matter. I didn’t give him my number, I just walked out while he was asleep, not giving him time to have a conversation. It’s for the best. I can move on now and find someone who wants to be with me. Not someone who took my V card and walked away.” Mindy looks at her cell and then looks at me. “What?” I ask, not liking the look in her eyes.
“You are never going to believe who just texted me? The guy I slept with last night. Apparently, he lives with your guy, Garret.” She has a wide grin on her face.
“What? No way. Show me that.” She hands me her cell. I ignore the rude things he talks about first, but then it says that he lives with Garret and he’s trying to get hold of me.
I’m in shock. How on earth did that happen?
“You know what this means, don’t you?” I shake my head.
