Standing up abruptly, he wobbles a little and stares at me. “Saylor?” I begin to pace the room in front of him. I'm worried, what if he thinks I’ve done this to trap him? He tries to reach out and take my hand, but I manage to dodge it. “What’s wrong? You’re scaring me.”
“I know you said we need to talk. But I have something I need to say to you, but you need to let me say it all before you jump in. Okay?” I need to get it out, I know what Everett’s like, he’ll try and distract me.
He nods. “But, I just want you to know that it doesn’t matter. Whatever you have to say won’t matter. I’ve fallin’ in love with you, Saylor.”
Shit. I stare at him for ages. How on earth did I not know that he felt this way about me? For weeks I’ve missed out on his touch, his kiss… Everything.
Then I walk out of the room, I need to find the pregnancy test. I know that I have to show him and this is the perfect opportunity. I’m not sure if he’ll believe me otherwise.
I didn’t expect him to follow me, but he does. I go to the dresser beside my bed, I open the drawer and pull the test out.
“Everett, I don’t know what happened in Vegas, but it certainly didn’t stay there.” I laugh, nervously. I sound like a moron, who really says that?
“I know, we’re here together now,” he says, slightly confused.
I turn to face him. “There’s more than just the two of us to worry about.” I hand him the test and hold my breath.
He takes it and looks at the two lines, then he looks back up at me. “Vegas?” he questions. “You’re pregnant?” I can barely hear him, he’s so quiet.
I nod. “Yeah, Everett, I’m pregnant and you’re the father.”
