I pull away when I remember we’re at work. “Not here. We promised, we’d keep our personal life separate.”
He rests his forehead against mine. “I know. But fuck, it’s hard not touching you. Not letting the world know that you’re mine.” His hand rests against my stomach. “That you’re both mine.”
I press a chaste kiss against his lips. “We are, but we agreed not only to keep things professional but also not to tell anyone about the pregnancy. Tonight, we’ll talk and then you can fuck me.” I smile at his sharp intake of breath. “Until then, I have work to do.” I step away from him and open his office door.
Zara glares at me and I ignore her as I make my way to my desk.

I push aroundthe food on my plate, I’ve barely eaten. I’ve been preoccupied since his mom’s visit to work this morning. I’m worried about what this talk is going to bring.
“Okay, I’ve let you be quiet for long enough. What’s going on?” Everett asks as he sits back in his chair.
“Your mom hates me,” I begin and he shakes his head. “Don’t, Everett, don’t lie. I’m not rich and I’m not pretty,” I say as I roll my eyes. “She will never approve of me and you. Which means she’ll never approve of our baby.”
“Saylor, she doesn’t hate you. I don’t give a fuck if you’re rich or not. My mom doesn’t rule me and I certainly don’t look to her for approval on who I date.” He stands from his chair and walks toward me. “You’re fucking gorgeous, Say, you blow every other woman out of the water. Pretty? That’s an understatement for how beautiful you are.” He lifts me off my chair and into his arms. “You’re mine, Saylor, and I fucking love you. Nothing is going to change that.”
“Can you at least tell her to stop pushing you and Zara together? In fact, I think you should tell her about the baby.”
“Saylor…”
I shake my head, “No, Everett, I’m serious, you don’t know how it feels to listen to your mom try and push a woman into your arms. Please, can you tell her about the baby?”
“She’s a little difficult…”
I’ve had enough. “Difficult, that’s putting it lightly. You either tell her, or I’m moving out.”
