“Stop.” I raise my hand toward her while trying to keep my voice low to avoid drawing the attention of the camera crews. They love a scandal. “You made a choice, and now you have to live with it.”
“Please.” She rolls her eyes. “I could have him back and begging for me in a second.”
I laugh at her naivety. “You don’t know him very well.”
“Don’t laugh at me.”
“Don’t say stupid things.” I cross my arms over my chest. “What are you doing here?”
“I need to talk to Knox.”
“About?”
“It’s personal.”
“Are you pregnant?” My eyes sweep over her, searching for a baby bump. Although he said he was careful to avoid any type of manipulation on her part, nothing was 100% foolproof. Not that it matters. He’s not going back to her, and if by some slim chance she’s pregnant, and it’s his baby, I’ll be right there with him. I wrinkle my nose. Dealing with this ray of sunshine for the rest of my life.
“Oh, fuck. No.” She gags. “The only way I’ll have children is via a surrogate. This body is a temple.”
“What do you want?” I slap my hands on my hips.
“Fine.” She waves her hand dismissively. “I need money. When my agent heard about my compromising situation with Knox’s chauffeur, he terminated my contract. I figure Knox owes me. If he was paying attention to my needs, I would not be behind on my bills.”
“I don’t see that as Knox’s problem.”
