“Yeah, you got my back. You gonna tell me what’s it about?”

“I’ll fill you in later. Got a date with my girl right now.”

He grunted as if he cracked a smile. Cody was no fool; he could tell how much I liked Rhys from the start.

Me: Done. This better be fucking genuine.

Unknown: 11pm sharp. Don’t be late.

I ran up the slippery wooden stairs to her door and tapped a tune on the wood.

“Who is it?” she called out.

“Romeo to claim my Juliet.”

She swung the door open and tilted her head to the side, looking as sexy as fuck with her bangs and glossy hair brushed to the side. “That’s so romantic,” she sighed.

“I know, right.” She stood there in a long jade-green dress with a really low v-shape front that stopped just below her ribcage. There was only a single strip of shiny fabric between her nice titties and me. She might’ve looked like a red carpet number, but my mind was still in the gutter. She turned me on like a traffic light and I hadn’t fucked since I last fucked her. “Wow! Like, wow! You look…wow! Do I have permission to fondle you tonight?”

“Umm, do people normally go to first base on the first date?” she asked, frowning and genuinely keen to know the rules.

“Fondling is second base, or maybe third, depending where my fingers go.” I handed her the flowers and box of chocolates and she grinned from ear to ear. “Where did you get this dress from?” It wasn’t her style at all. For starters, it barely covered her body and it wasn’t made out of cheap polyester. Her back was almost completely bare as well as her front. Shit, fuck, I’m going to be like a horny old goat tonight.

“Lise took me shopping.”

“Figures. Come on, gorgeous,” I said holding out my arm to her, “let’s go.”

She put on a long, black warm coat, grinned proudly as she took my arm and I escorted my girl to the ball.

At the restaurant, we gazed at each other across the table, forever smiling. The girl who rarely smiled was all smiles now, thanks to me.

“So I’m heading home to Chicago next week to break the news to the Luxon clan and I was wondering if you want to come with me?” I asked her.

“Oh, I’ve never been to Chicago before. Yes, I’ll love to as long as you don’t parade me in front of them.” She sipped some water from her glass that made her pink lips glossy. She was wearing makeup that pronounced her eyelashes and her lips were swollen and pouty. Holy fuck, she was hot.

“You’ll just meet my sister. I’ll spare you the pain of meeting my folks this time around.”

“I’m so proud of you,” she added. “You’re doing something that’s not easy. Do you think he’ll see it coming?”

“I don’t know. He’ll probably assume that money will trump everything and that I’m highly unlikely to turn down a good paying job, since I’m so used to the comforts of wealth.”

“Have you got a plan if he decides to cut the apron strings? He might refuse to fund schooling unless you study what he wants.”

“Nope. I have absolutely no plan.”

She smirked and leaned in, inadvertently showing me a bit of her tit, “You could get a job at Stads.”

I made a face. “I don’t know if I want to spend my days serving students, especially my boys. The reality is that I might have to drop out of college.”

The smile washed off her pretty face. “That would be a great shame.”

“Yes, it would.”

“Maybe you could do those Tiktok videos and get sponsorship that way,” she stated.

“Huh,” I pondered on that idea. “That’ll work. But you’ll have to be there with me, Rhys. I’m not moving anywhere without you.” I winked at her. “If you look this good in a sexy dress, imagine how good you’ll look in a bikini. I’ll teach you how to dive.” I glanced at the time on my phone. The meeting at 11pm was plaguing my mind.

“Do you have to be somewhere?”
