“Cool.”
Aiden tugged his long-sleeve, dark gray waffle-knit shirt over his head. “When is it again?”
“Saturday. Tomorrow night.”
“Right.” That crept up fast.
“Anyway … so Joy’s husband, Grant, drives the courtesy bus or whatever for an old folk’s home and he managed to get it for us and is going to be our driver.”
Aiden resisted the urge to snort. They were going to drive around in an old geezer bus for a bachelor party? Okay …
“Not the coolest, I know,” Jace went on, as if reading Aiden’s mind. “But it’s free and thankfully, it’s not ugly in comparison to some of the old people buses out there. It’s black and has gold lettering. Just the initials of the care home. Nothing too …”
“Embarrassing?” Aiden added with a snort.
“Yeah. And Grant has big black magnets that he can put over the writing so it just looks like a nondescript black bus-thing. It’ll be fine.”
Aiden sat down on the leather coffee table and yanked on his socks. “I’m sure it will be. What do you need from me?”
“Well, the party is going to start around three.”
“In the afternoon?”
“Yeah.”
“Okay …”
“We’re going rock climbing at the climbing gym, Jordan has really gotten into climbing lately, then to the brewpub—I know you don’t drink—I hope the brewpub is okay?”
“It’s fine,” Aiden said blandly.
“Okay, cool. Then after the brewpub, we’re heading to the billiards hall, I enrolled us in their pool tournament.”
“Seriously?”
“Why?” Jace sounded worried. “You don’t think that’s a good idea?”
“Does Jordan like pool?”
“I mean, we’ve played it once or twice when we’ve gone out for drinks. Why? Do you have a better idea?”
“Gun range? Axe and knife throwing? Jord and I went and did it earlier this week and he enjoyed it.”
“Okay … um, I can look into that. Then, after that, we were going to head out for dinner to the steakhouse. You’re not like a vegetarian or vegan are you?
“No.”
“Cool.” He was quiet for a moment. “There aren’t really any strippers or anything in town worth seeing …”
“Does Jordan want to see strippers?”
“No.”
“Then don’t give it a second thought.”
“Right. Right.” Jace seemed like a nice guy, but there was a nervousness to his voice that grew increasingly frustrating. Like he was just pulling this entire bachelor party out of his ass at the last minute. It also didn’t seem like he knew Jordan that well.
To be fair, Aiden didn’t know his brother that well, either, but he already knew he could do a better job planning his bachelor party than this guy.
