Unburdened.

Unshackled.

“You think that was wild?” he called back to us. “You ain’t seen nothing yet!”

He really hadn’t been kidding.

Mason had treated us to a stunt show, going all in after that first one.

It had been breathtaking seeing him like that.

Really amazing.

As we neared the house, just ten minutes out now until we were back, I was kind of sad that it had come to an end.

That was until Mason signaled and pulled over on the trail as we were traveling through the forest, the brush and all that buried beneath two feet worth of snowfall.

He dismounted his snowmobile and then he leapt into the snow and started waving his arms and legs, making snow angels.

“Shit, yeah!” I cried, joining him and making some right opposite him.

“Beautiful artwork,” Bree told us with a giggle as she came over to join in.

She didn’t quite make it as a snowball shot by her, then smacked Mason in the face.

Mason choked and spat out some of the snow that had filled his mouth. Then he swung his head and laughed, “You little shit.”

Me and Bree turned to see Lev standing there in the snow grinning like a little devil.

A challenging glint lit his eyes as he reached down and smushed another snowy weapon together in his gloved palms.

All hell broke loose then, Mason rolling to his side, then getting to his feet and making a snowball rapid-fire, then tossing it back at Lev.

Lev, with all his fight skills, dodged it easily and stuck his tongue out at him.

I joined in, trying to get him, even as he hit each of us dead-on. Son of a bitch!

He avoided all the hits.

Until a snowball smacked right into his head.

He stilled for a moment, shocked that he’d actually taken a hit.

And then he brushed the snow out of his hair and some that had gotten on his face, and turned to see Bree standing there with a hand still cocked at him, the other holding another snowball.

“Like that, lovely?” she teased.

“Oh, baby, you’re so fucked now.”

“Promises, promises,” she said, giggling in that amazing way of hers that did things to all three of us.

Lev burst forward and ran at her.

She squealed as he caught her across the waist and drove her down into the snow on her back.

She snatched up some snow and tossed it at Levi as he pounced on her.

It hit him in the mouth too. “Payback for Mason,” she told him.
