I was beyond triggered right now.
But if it overtook me I’d be done for, Levi would be done for, and it would all be over.
I was jolted back when I felt him shifting behind me and I heard the sound of his belt opening.
In the process, his grip inadvertently loosened on his gun.
That was all that I needed.
I slammed my head back, smashing it into his fucking face.
He roared and flailed and I took the opportunity to dislodge the gun from his grip.
In the struggle, though, it went spinning across the floor.
He went to dive for it, but I roundhoused him into his guys.
“Stop her! Don’t just fucking stand there!” he yelled.
I saw one of them brush his gun in his holster.
And then a shot rang out and drove through his skull, killing him instantly.
I spun to see Mason standing there beside Colt.
“Oh my God,” I breathed with major relief.
That escalated even further when I saw Levi moving out on the patio, coming to.
He lifted his head, frowning and looking around, trying to get his bearings.
I saw the moment he realized what was happening because his eyes went utterly black.
He zeroed in on Lynch with his belt undone.
And then all hell broke loose.
Levi barreled through the open patio doors and tackled him to the ground.
Mason broke from Colt and launched himself at the remaining Osiris member. “Thought you’d gotten away from us. Your fatal mistake,” he said, as he delivered rapid-fire blows of his cement block punches.
“Shit, are you okay, Bree?” Colt said, suddenly beside me and looking me over, rubbing my arm in comfort.
“Fine. I’ll be fine,” I said, distracted by the sight of Levi in an animalistic fury as he unleashed all over that sick bastard.
He reached across the floor for a moment and snatched up Lynch’s gun from earlier.
And then he shoved it into the asshole’s mouth.
I turned Colt’s head away and held him to my chest.
But I couldn’t do the same for myself.
I just couldn’t look away.
I needed to see this.
As sick as it was, it was the closure long denied.
