“Yes, I want you very much. So much my body aches, but this was our first date. I don’t want to scare you away, Sweetheart.”
Sara exhaled and nodded. “Thank you.”
He reached out and squeezed her hand. “Let’s get youinside…”
“I can do i…”
“There’s a lot about me you don’t know yet, but you’ll learn quickly. I need to be in charge of you. I need to take care of you. Can you let me do that?”
Damn, she was in trouble. She’d never had anyone want to take care of her, and it could become addicting. “Yes.”
“Good girl. Wait for me.”
Grant came around the truck, opened her door, and unbuckled her belt before lifting her out. He set her down. His arm wrapped around her waist and led her up to the front door. There was still enough light out so she could find her keys quickly. He gently took them from her and opened the door. He ushered her in before handing her the keys.
He stood just outside the door. “Do you want to come in?” she asked.
“Not this time. I want my hands on you too much. We’ll know the right time for us, so I’m not going to push it.”
She nodded and tried to hide her disappointment.
“I do need one kiss before I go,” he said.
He stepped forward and cupped her face in his hands. Her eyes slid closed as his head descended. The first touch of his lips sent what felt like electrifying sparks through her body, and the way he tensed and the little moan that escaped told her he felt something similar.
After a moment, he lifted his head, stared at her, and then kissed her again. This time was hotter. He seemed to want to touch every part of her, and she let him. One of her hands had a hold of his wrist, and the other was on his waist. She was not going to put a stop to something that felt that amazing.
The next time he lifted his head, he cursed and took a step back without releasing her face.
“Jesus, Sweetheart. When I get you under me, we’re goingto burn up the bed.”
She licked her lips and almost moaned at the taste of him on her tongue. “Is that good?”
He chuckled. “Oh, yeah. It’s very good.”
She nodded and waited for his next move. He started to pull her closer, cursed, and took a step away.
“I need to leave, or I’m afraid I’ll do something I’m not sure you’re ready for,” he said.
Sara nodded.
“Lock the door,” he said gruffly.
“I will. Thank you for dinner,” she said.
“It was my pleasure. Can I pick you up tomorrow? We can go see the dog and then do something.”
“What time?” she asked.
“What time works best for you?”
“Afternoon, I think.”
He nodded. “Okay, I’ll be here around three, all right?”
“That will work.”
“Okay. I’m going to head out. Stay safe.”
