She stared at his neck and waited. When he crossed his arms over his chest and his Dom persona came out, she almost took a step back. Sara glanced up at his face to see a muscle throbbing in his cheek. She took that to mean she had disrupted his night.
“I need to leave. You don’t have to say anything to me. I’m not surprised you moved on.”
One of his eyebrows rose.
“It’s just that you’re very handsome, and so women are going to want…”
He cleared his throat, making her words die off.
She looked everywhere except at him.
“Little Sub, tell me why you’re here?” Grant asked.
She wrapped her arms around her waist.
“Look at me, Sweetheart.”
Sara sighed and looked up at him. She tried hard to keep from showing her emotions. This whole thing had been a game to him, so she didn’t want to give him the satisfaction.
“Nothing important. I was going to talk to the girls. If I had known you were here with someone, I would not have come.”
Her throat stung with the need to cry, but she just kept swallowing, holding it back.
“Do you really think I would do that? Be able to be with another woman?” he asked.
Sara shrugged. “That’s the problem. I thought I knew you, but now I’m not sure.”
He sighed. “Sweetheart. I admit I fucked up, and I wish I had the words to make this better. I do know I won’t ever make that mistake again as long as I live. I don’t want anyone but you. I am here to get advice from the guys. I have no idea who the woman was, and I don’t care. You must have just seen a few seconds of her touching me. I told her to fuck off, and I already have a sub. When Macy pointed you out, and I saw the look on your face, I was elated you were here but also apprehensive.”
She didn’t know what to think or do.
“Tell me this. Is what I did enough for you to walk away and never see me again?”
God, just the thought made her sick. She shook her head. She could never see her life without him in it.
Chapter Nineteen
He waited. His heart felt like it would pound out of his chest. What would he do if she said yes? Fuck, he wouldn’t be able to handle it. The fact that she was wearing his collar helped.
Every second that passed, his sanity slipped a little more.
“No, I can’t be happy without you,” she murmured.
He exhaled and nodded. Okay, he could deal with anything now. “I know I hurt the bond we have, and you lost trust in me, but I know we can fix it.”
She nodded. “I’d like that.”
“I know we need to talk, but I can’t go another second without being inside of you. Will you let me love you?”
Sara nodded again.
The band around his heart loosened even more. Everything was going to be okay.
“Take off your clothes and lie on the bed,” he demanded.
Without another word, she did what he asked. Within a few minutes, she was exactly where he needed her to be. He took his time undressing. His eyes never left her. He could see her pulse speed up, and the shiny cream between her legs made his mouth water.
Grant lay down beside her and set his hand on her stomach. He smiled when he felt a ripple, and then a shiver of desire raced through her.
