Opening her eyes with great difficulty from a deep sleep, she realized she was lying on her stomach. She could see Rumi and Uma talking softly and laughing while they arranged her breakfast.

The warm temperature indicated it was quite late in the morning. She tried to move, but a gasp escaped her when the slightly coarse cloth of the bedding rubbed against her skin and caused her body to tingle all over.

Her entire body felt sensitive and buzzed with sensation, especially the place between her legs. Events of the previous night with the demon’s head between her legs flashed in her mind.

Gasping, she sat up, only to realize she was naked and had to pull the bed cover over her.

“Oh, you are awake,” Uma said with a smile. “Your lunch is ready.”

Nandini was shocked that it was nearly noon. She had barely slept all night, her body buzzing with need and frustration. The demon didn’t have any such problem and had slept deeply. He had woken at his usual time before sunrise and left the tent.

Eventually, she fell into a tired, restless sleep at sunrise.

“Sorry, I got up late and couldn’t help this morning,” she said.

She was used to joining the Kabali women right after bath to help in cooking chores and working in the stables later.

“We expected you to wake up late,” Uma teased with a small smile.

Nandini’s face flamed as the entire encampment knew she had planned a romantic dinner for the demon the previous night. Hopefully, they hadn’t heard the loud moans and shouts of pleasure from the demon and her last night.

“Thank you for bringing me lunch,” she murmured, fighting the blush. “I will eat after my bath.”

She badly wanted to stop the tingling sensation all over and also wash off the demon’s touch from her body.

Uma and Rumi escorted her to the pond.

She took an extra long dip and scrubbed her skin harder than usual, but the tingling remained along with the feel of the demon’s touch. Despite the heat, her skin broke into goosebumps, and she shivered as she recalled the heated swipe of his tongue in between her legs.

Dirty bastard!

Angry and embarrassed that her body once again began throbbing, she quickly came out of the pond and dressed in fresh clothing.

She returned to the tent and ate the entire meal as she was famished.

“You can rest today,” Uma said with a smile.

Nandini’s cheeks heated as she shook her head. “I’m fine,” she said.

She didn’t want to stay in the tent as it would remind her of each moment of the previous night with the demon. And of the upcoming night.

She knew she would have to fulfill her promise to the demon, no matter what. Which meant there would be more passion-filled nights with the demon.

A shiver of arousal passed through her.

Dammit!

She desperately tried not to think of the demon. She had to focus on more important things.

“Has the prisoner been given food?” she asked. “I want to meet him.”

She hoped the captured teen wasn’t being ill-treated. She had managed to save his life, but she didn’t want him punished too severely.

“What prisoner?” Uma asked.

“The young… spy who was captured yesterday.”

“Oh, he is no longer here,” Uma replied. “The spy has been returned to his clan yesterday morning.”
