The first thing she would do when she reached home was to get the offensive thing cut off from her leg. And knowing her brothers, they would go after the Kabali demon and cut off his damn head.

She had never wished violence of that kind on anyone, but the demon who kidnapped and forcibly married her deserved to lose his head. She would ensure she accompanied her brothers when the demon was caught. He would beg for her mercy and would receive none.

Just as she daydreamed of the revenge, a large bird flew on top of the cactus.

It was an eagle.

Her blood froze, and her heart raced in fear. Dropping the leather bag and food pouch, she swung up on top of the horse and squeezed her legs urgently, setting the horse on a run.

Maybe it is just a coincidence. There’s no way that particular eagle belongs to the demon.

She turned back, only to see a faint outline of a black horse with a rider at a faraway distance coming towards her.

Despite the desert heat, her skin broke into goosebumps.

Oh God.

She squeezed her legs even harder, desperately urging the horse to move even faster. She didn’t dare to look back again and only looked at the mountains that now appeared closer than before. She hoped to slip away within them and hide somewhere until the next day.

But before she could reach the mountains, the sound of a horse from behind seemed to come much closer.

She continued to squeeze her legs harder, willing her horse to ride even faster.

“Go! Go! Please run faster!”

Barely a moment later, hard fingers wrapped around her upper arm and dragged her off the moving horse.

She screamed. And then, fought.

“Let me go!”

Her face was crushed against a hard chest, with the musky smell of sandalwood filling her senses. She continued to struggle violently, not caring if she fell off the moving horse. She just wanted to get away from the demon.

But the demon held her in a tight grip, and his muscled arm tightened savagely until she stopped struggling to gasp breathlessly.

Angry tears filled her eyes while the warm wind blew against her hair as the demon’s horse rode them back to the hell where she would once again be held captive.

It had taken her a lot of planning and several hours to ride away, but it barely took much time to return to the encampment.

As soon as the horse stopped, the arm around her disappeared, and the demon got down. Immediately, she tried to escape with the demon’s horse, but the animal didn’t listen to her command.

She tried to kick the demon as he reached for her, but he dragged her off the horse and threw her over his broad shoulder. She looked up to see if she could get help. But all she saw were the hostile faces of the Kabali clan people. Some of them looked downright angry that she had fooled them into thinking she was scared of horses and escaped under their watch.

The people hovered as though waiting to see what brutal punishment their savage leader would give to his runaway bride. She screamed, struggled, and kicked, but the demon didn’t pause as he carried her through the encampment. She tried to grab and pull out the Kabali spear from his side, but it was too heavy, and she couldn’t get it out.

She continued to struggle, knowing there would be something worse waiting for her in the tent. But the fear she felt increased her anger even more.

The demon bent low as he entered their large tent, and then he threw her on the bedding with little care. It took a moment to catch her breath, but as soon as she did, she sprang up and moved away to the other side of bedding.

Tears of frustration along with rage burst inside her of once again being trapped.

And while she was panting with rage and frustration, the demon stood with his muscled hands crossed over his broad chest, watching her with his cold grey eyes.

Her rage spilled over. “You bloody savage! Let me go!”

She began to throw things at him. She threw the leather water container and the food dishes.

“I’m going to kill you! I’m going to rip out your fucking heart while you sleep if you don’t let me go!”
