Feeling enraged and terrified, she tried to kick him between his legs, but he twisted and dragged her closer until his hard, muscled arm wrapped around her waist, and he lifted her off her feet.

She screamed and kicked.

“Let me go, you savage!” she yelled, not caring if others would hear.

The demon was going to hurt or kill her anyway.

He did let her go, but she realized he had released her on purpose. He had gripped the back of the blouse she wore. And when she tried to run away from him, the material tore with a loud, ripping sound. Shocked, she held the now loose cloth hanging against her chest and turned.

His grey eyes were unreadable.

She started to run towards the entrance of the tent. But before she could open it, a thick, muscled arm wrapped around her waist and dragged her.

She screamed as he carried her and dropped her heedlessly to the middle of the bedding and covered her body with his.

Gasping, she tried to escape. But his heavy weight pressed her down.

Overcome by rage and fear, she screamed.

“I will not allow you to brutalize me, you demon! I will kill you or die trying!”

His grey eyes met hers.

“Tam hums manlam mam ornayi thikri dhani…gvanni,” he commanded.

She didn’t know what it meant. She didn’t care.

Leaning her head forward, she sank her teeth hard into his shoulder until she got the metallic taste of his blood. She felt his large body jerk on top of hers.

She let go and spoke. “I am Nandini Thakvar. Let. Me. Go.” Her tone was insistent, and she hoped the savage would get her message that she was from a powerful clan who would decimate him for touching her.

The savage froze, and when she pulled back, her eyes met with his. But instead of fear or comprehension, she saw something dark moving in his grey eyes.

His eyes blazed before he lowered his head and bit her hard on her chest, right above her breast. She screamed as the heat of pain sliced through her.

He raised his head. “Tam hums manlam mam ornayi thikri dhani…gvanni,” he commanded.

“You savage!” she yelled, angry tears filling her eyes.

His ash-covered face remained unmoved. He appeared merciless and ruthless.

It made her all the more angrier. She struggled under him, trying to push him off her.

“Get off me!” she shouted.

He didn’t move. And much to her horror, the loosened material of her blouse began to slip down further due to her movements. She could feel the demon’s chest hair rubbing against her partially exposed breasts.

His eyes lowered. When his darkened eyes met with hers again, fear gripped her.

“Don’t you dare!” she yelled. “Don’t you dare touch me, you demon!”

But the demon dared. Gripping the loosened material of the cloth, he yanked hard, baring her entire chest.

She went wild and began to strike out at him. She went for his eyes but managed to scratch his cheek and draw blood. When she went for his thick nose ring, hoping to yank it off painfully, his grip on her loosened, and he moved aside. She rolled away, but he held the top of her long skirt and yanked her back, ripping the soft material. She was left almost naked, with only the ripped skirt barely covering her legs.

With a sob, she tried to escape and reach for the knife she had dropped earlier near the low table. But before she could completely crawl away or get up, his long, muscled arm wrapped around her waist and dragged her back.

He lay on top of her again. This time, he caught both her hands and held them on top of her head.
