She forced a smile. “All right. Let’s go.”
She’d have to find time to speak with Girja, most likely after the school session finishes or the next day.

The afternoon lunch went on until late evening.
Nandini was bombarded with questions about how she learned to fight, her childhood, and her relationship with her parents and brothers. She thought the women would be hostile towards her due to her past, but surprisingly, the majority of them seemed to be friendly and accepting.
By the time she returned to the bedroom suite, the sun was beginning to set. The demon hadn’t returned.
Uma brought in a light meal, but there were several other dishes, as the demon had apparently requested his dinner be brought to the room that evening.
Her heart raced at the thought of him.
Even though her body was still slightly sore, she craved his touch and passion.
I shouldn’t desire him so desperately.
Once again, she reminded herself that the demon was her temporary husband.
Inhaling a deep breath, she took a long shower and prepared for the night.
She was finishing her light meal when the bedroom door opened, and the demon strode in.
Her heart thudded seeing him. The demon’s black tunic was covered with a dusting of sand, indicating he must have been riding in the desert.
He didn’t say anything. His grey eyes met hers, making her heart race faster.
“Rudra… we need to talk,” she said.
His eyes hooded as he watched her. “Come and join me in the shower,” he commanded.
Her face heated. “I already took a shower,” she said.
She knew what would happen if she joined him in the shower. Passion would take over.
Although she craved his touch, she knew it was important to talk to him first. She had to ask him how Girja had saved him and what happened afterward.
Luckily, the demon didn’t sweep her into his arms or carry her into the shower. He walked into the bathroom, where she saw him shedding his clothes. His powerful, broad back and narrow hips and buttocks looked tanned and muscular.
With her face heating, she looked away before she was tempted to join her demon husband in the shower.
She cleared the used dishes and placed them at the bottom layer of the food cart. Then, getting onto the bed, she waited. The demon emerged just as she wondered if she should wait by the seating near the bedroom window.
Despite the long day and lack of proper sleep, he looked powerful without a hint of tiredness. He was also naked and aroused.
Her heart thudded as she watched him coming towards her with purpose.
“Rudra, we need to talk first!” she said urgently, placing a hand on his damp chest.
But her demon husband held the back of her neck.
She tried to stop him. “You must be hungry!” she said, hoping he’d have his dinner and she could talk to him at that time.
“I am hungry,” he said, his grey eyes boring into hers. “But not for food.”
Before she could say anything more, his mouth covered hers in a hot kiss.
